2nd Update: we did finally get our refund after weeks, without any further contact though. Happy we did get what they promised but it took a lot of energy. Update: After our review below and our email about the bad experience they promised a refund of 50%. After this promise we’ve never heard of them again and didn’t receive anything despite al our following e mails about this. They promise you a refund when it’s al shit but you will never receive it. I can’t believe this is how a big hotel chain operates. We’ve had a terrible experience and got offered 10% discount on our stay by the manager while we were there. It would take 10 business days to make the refund she told us. We never got this money back and they also do not respond on the email we’ve sent about this. The front desk also told us to sent an email because they thought it was necessary that we got compensated even more because of our bad experience. We feel ripped of and would never book any ibis hotel ever again. Also, don’t trust the duvets. They don’t get washed. This is how ours looked.

We’ve been here on a weekend trip. I don’t even know where to start. There are no phones in the rooms, so you can’t reach out to anyone. The bathroom is smaller than in a camper. There in 1! Towel each person, nothing for hands or face. No AC and you can’t really open the window. As we checked in we wanted to book breakfast and the desk worker told us it’s included. As I went for breakfast the host had to double check but found out it was included. The last day they said it wasn’t so I had to pay extra for that. I told housekeeping I needed some toilet paper and they never brought that as I asked again they said they would bring some- I ended up at Teskos next door to buy some. Also no fridge in the rooms. Sorry but I would not recommend this place to anyone. Sorry I wish I had something good to say but I just can’t

Lovely hotel and staff. Modern vibe entrance. Lovely sofa sitting area by the bar. Didn't dine there. Rooms were clean, and bathroom pods are certainly different. Just remember the step, lol. I had an ok view at night, but a kids school over the road. All the staff were great with us. Proper international clientèle which the staff handled greatly, some speakers of foreign languages (one spoke 4). I spotted a problem one evening while having a drink, and it was fixed the next morning. The manager gave us a free drink for reporting it. I would return to this hotel but for its location. Tesco Express next door. Lots of homeless and thieves around this area, unfortunately, swiping phones from people. Always police about and not too far from a hospital, so sirens for poorly patients en route there.

The Ibis London Shoreditch hotel offers a practical and budget-friendly stay in the heart of London. It is located near popular attractions like Liverpool Street, Spitalfields Market and Brick Lane. The hotel provides easy access to the city's cultural and culinary hotspots, making it a suitable choice for both business travelers and young tourists looking to explore the city. However, there are some drawbacks to consider. The rooms are compact and simple, with furniture often built into the walls to maximize space. This might feel cramped for guests accustomed to more spacious accommodations. Additionally, the shower and toilet are installed in a pod-like design, which, while efficient, can feel quite tight and may not be comfortable for everyone. Also important to note that the pod-type shower is usable, but supply a mediocre water flow in the showers, which can be inconvenient, and reminded me of the Seinfeld episode "The Shower Head".Another notable aspect is the temperature control system in the rooms, which does not include traditional air conditioning. While this system aims to maintain a comfortable environment, it might not be as effective for guests who prefer the precise control offered by air conditioning units. Additionally, the windows in the rooms cannot be opened, citing the safety and security of all guests. This might be a concern for those who prefer fresh air or have a preference for open windows. The hotel's amenities are basic and geared towards guests who plan to spend most of their time out and about in the city. The restaurant offers bistro fare and breakfast, which is convenient for those looking for quick meals. The central location and proximity to public transportation, including the London Underground, make it easy to explore London's many attractions.Overall, the Ibis London Shoreditch hotel provides good solution for travelers who prioritize location and affordability over luxury. While the compact rooms and basic amenities might not suit everyone, I think that the hotel's convenient location and modern decor make it a reasonable choice for those looking to experience the best of...

Overall it has been a pleasant stay, the front desk is always very polite and obliging and ready to help. The hotel has a lobby bar and you can enjoy your drinks in the evening. The bed is comfortable. Now on to what I think needs improvement: firstly, the bathroom is really strange, the door is hard to shut and open. The shower is weak and the temperature is hard to control. The water can be burning hot and then turn icy cold and then turn back hot again. Showering is not a nice experience at all. I know this is a budget hotel but seriously they need to update their bathrooms. Also, I would suggest every room to have a safe. Currently, if you need to store your valuables, you have to bring them down to the lobby and store it a room where there are other safe deposit boxes, next to all the other luggage which I think the security is definitely compromised because there are so many people walking in and out of the room all day. I also suggest the hotel management to review their hotel security as anybody can walk into the hotel and enter the safe deposit/luggage hold room easily if they try to. You can push open the door without any key needed. It is really really strange. I didn’t feel safe storing my valuables during my 5 night stay but I had no choice. That said, there’s no issue with the staff - they have all been great. The only issues I have are the bathroom and hotel security in general, which I think it is up to the management to seriously review to prevent even any remote chances of burglary/robbery which is so prevalent...

My recent stay at the Ibis London City Shoreditch left me with mixed feelings, primarily due to a frustrating experience upon arrival. We had booked a specific room type, but were informed that the hotel was overbooked and our requested room was unavailable. This resulted in our party being split up, which was incredibly inconvenient and not what we had planned for our trip.

What was most frustrating was the lack of communication. We were not notified of this issue in advance of our arrival, which would have given us the opportunity to cancel and book another Ibis unit, or make alternative arrangements. When I raised this concern with the front office manager and asked why we weren't informed, my question was repeatedly avoided. This lack of transparency and accountability was very disappointing.

While a room was eventually offered the next day, our itinerary was tight, and this last-minute change simply didn't factor into our plans. The hotel staff claimed they thought they were doing us a favour, but unfortunately, this incident significantly impacted what should have been a smooth and enjoyable stay.

It's a shame, because aside from this issue, the hotel itself is very nice and boasts a fantastic location. It offers easy access to tube stations and the vibrant surrounding areas of interest in Shoreditch. Had it not been for the overbooking and the handling of the situation, it would have been a truly great experience. I hope the hotel addresses these communication and booking issues to prevent similar situations for...
