After attending the Immersive Van Gogh experience across the road from Spitalfields market we stumbled upon Brother Marcus when looking for a bite to eat. Wooden beams, warm bulb lighting and walls decorated with plants, attracted us to Brother Marcus & the menu also looked appetising with reasonable prices for the dishes we fancied. The staff were very inviting, and welcoming & we felt there was a positive energy in the place as we entered the restaurant. Once seated we did not have to wait long for a friendly person to take our order. A fancy bottle of water (Greek bottle) for a pound was taken to our table and we ordered a coke and a beer. The coke was small, but the beer was served in a big glass. We selected the Black Garlic Houmous with Lemon Chickpeas and two portions of Toasted Fluffy Pitta breads to start with and Michalis advised us before we ordered that the mains were of a smaller size than average to encourage an appreciation of all the different flavours of the dishes on offer. I asked if they were like Spanish Tapas, he said similar but when the dishes arrived at our table, they were actually larger than a Tapas portion. Our mains were; Grilled Sprouting Broccoli (I'm a vegetarian), Potato Chips with Feta & Oregano, my friend ordered the Crispy Calamare with Fava Bean Puree, Samphire, Rocket oil & Urfa Chilli and another main dish of Kefir Fried Chicken with grated Graviera and Walnut Muhammara. I tasted the Walnut Muhammara too and we both agreed it was divine as were the Roasted garlic cloves that came with the Broccoli dish. The flavouring of each dish was so good and the combination of the crispy, golden chips with Feta cheese worked so well too. With having had a fluffy pitta bread each before the main dishes, the portion sizes were just right. We were given another bottle of water which was free and after we had been served by Michalis and his colleague for the starters, mains and drinks, another member of the team (also friendly and cheerful) approached us to ask if we would like to try a dessert. We do not normally have dessert when eating out but because the food had been so delicious, we agreed to share a Baklava Sandwich with Greek Yoghurt and Pistachio Ice-cream. The combination of the warm pastry, toasted nuts and cold flavoursome ice cream made this dessert probably one of the best desserts we have ever tasted. The warm and cheerful vibe shared amongst the staff members made you feel comfortable and at ease in the restaurant and the subtle, unique Greek touches added to the atmosphere with a goat herding bell sounding in the kitchen. The tables and the kitchen looked clean and hygienic too. Overall, an unforgettable dining experience that we would thoroughly recommend, and we will return there with family and friends in the future. Michalis appears to motivate and encourage his staff which adds to the whole...

Known for their fabulous brunch offerings, Brother Marcus have widened their culinary offerings and opened a third restaurant in Spitalfields. The menu remains Eastern Mediterranean inspired and includes lunch and dinner.

The interiors are expansive and beautifully decked out with an assortment of plants dotted around and hanging from the ceiling. The heated outdoor terrace with twinkly fairy lights also looked very inviting.

For ease of selection, the menu is split into earth/sea/land options. The concept is sharing plates with a suggestion to order 2 to 3 dishes per person. There is also a separate pide bread menu, which are cooked fresh in a roaring bread oven.

We opted for the following dishes, which were all incredible!

Octopus, shaved fennel, torched orange and chorizo mayo (£12.60) Burnt aubergine, tahini, fermented mango and 62 degree egg (£8.80) Fried buttermilk spiced chicken, grated gravierra cheese and muhammara (£10.50) Pide topped with fat, kombi, chargilled leeks, blushed cherry tomatoes and nigella seeds (£11.20)

Every dish was an absolute triumph with freshness and exciting flavour combinations running through each.

The octopus was delightful with the citrusy pops of the burnt orange and the addition of the chorizo mayo made this dish really sing. The burnt aubergine and it’s creamy rich egg yolk was indulgent to tuck into and very moreish.

We loved the pepper sauce with the perfectly crisp buttermilk chicken. Lastly but certainly not least was the pide, which was a real favourite of the night. The bread is beautifully crisp with a lovely satisfying slight chewiness. The kombi was more creamy and salty which balanced wonderfully with the sweet tomatoes and cooked leeks. Pides are a must addition to your order.

The dishes at Brother Marcus’ new restaurant in Spitalfields are a real hit. The wonderful combinations of ingredients and flavours will have you planning your return trip immediately. It is a really gorgeous spot with delicious dishes and the owners’ passion for flavours...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Brother Marcus Spitalfields, and I must say it was an absolutely delightful experience! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟From the moment I stepped through the door, I was greeted by a fantastic staff, with Sera being the standout star.

The service provided by Sera was exemplary. Her warm and friendly demeanor made me feel incredibly welcome, and she went above and beyond to ensure that my dining experience was enjoyable. Her attentiveness, knowledge of the menu, and recommendations were simply outstanding.

Now, let's talk about the food! The cauliflower dish at Brother Marcus Spitalfields is an absolute must-try. It's evident that the chefs pour their heart and soul into crafting this exquisite dish. The cauliflower was perfectly cooked, with a delightful balance of flavors that left my taste buds dancing with joy. It was truly a culinary masterpiece!

In addition to the cauliflower, the rest of the menu at Brother Marcus Spitalfields is equally impressive. They offer a wide range of delectable options that cater to various dietary preferences, ensuring that there's something for everyone. Whether you're a vegetarian, a meat lover, or have specific dietary restrictions, Brother Marcus Spitalfields has you covered.

The ambiance of the restaurant is cozy and inviting, with a trendy yet relaxed atmosphere. It's the ideal spot for catching up with friends, a romantic date night, or even a solo meal. The attention to detail in the decor creates a charming and welcoming environment that adds to the overall dining experience.

To sum it up, Brother Marcus Spitalfields exceeded my expectations in every aspect. From the attentive staff, with a special shout-out to Sera, to the mouthwatering cauliflower dish, this restaurant deserves all the praise it receives. If you're looking for a memorable dining experience in Spitalfields, I highly recommend giving Brother Marcus a visit. You won't be disappointed!
