I honestly didn’t know what to expect and after reading a few reviews I was a little worried but I was pleasantly surprised. You get what you pay for and I can honestly say I got my moneys worth. It’s more of a hostel than hotel but it’s a great one. Check in was great, I came in late so they charge a 15 £fee if it’s from 10-12 and 40 £ after midnight. But I had great communication with the staff and they were expecting me and greeting me kindly and walked me up to my room showing me the bathrooms, kitchen and how the doors work. Room was spacious, bathrooms were clean, no shower gels but hot water running and one bathroom in each floor. I honestly didn’t have to wait on anyone for the bathroom in the days I was here. Everything you need for a comfortable stay is here. There are stairs to go up but it’s not alot. There is a kitchen with plenty of things to use, even a washer, iron and hair dryer. Location is great. Only about 15 minute walk to the bridge areas and plenty to eat around. I came at night so it’s hard to spot but that was perhaps the only trouble I had. For all the reviews of people expecting a big time hotel type service, you know that is not this based on the price you are searching. If you want an elevator, space and your own shower like a typical big chain American hotel then go find that to pay elsewhere, what you do get is a comfortable stay for the price for this hostel hybrid. Hope this helps.

Arrived in a room that smelled a bit stuffy. On the second morning, construction works started, with hammering, drilling and sawing happening all around - including right outside of our window, from 8 am onward. We complained to the janitor that the noise was annoying, the same as climbing through a construction site with my pregnant wife, when they were changing the carpets and fire alarm system in the house. "What?! Close the hotel, just for doing some renovations?? But we are improving the place!" Yes, really, that would have been the sensible thing to do, instead of surprising guests with this "improvement". On the plus, the hotel manager was EXTREMELY nice. He helped us to change the room once (because of the smell and blocked window), then a second time (because of the noise and blocked hallways). In that second room, the support for the shower head was broken, so it always fell down, which is super annoying for a tall guy like me. And from 8 in the morning, again, they made loud noises with some construction in front of our place, and people banged the door next to our place literally all the time. When we left we had to climb over a tarp with construction sand on it. Like, seriously, not closing a hotel and not informing guests when you renovate it is some strong disrespect. That super nice hotel manager is the only reason I'm going a little above the minimum rating here.

We needed a place near the Liverpool station that was convenient to get to from both Gatwick and Stansted airports, and this was it. It was also easy to get to other tourist attractions such as the Tower of London and The Jack of Ripper Tour. We booked a double room with a private bath - there was a snafu with our booking (didn't show up in the system), but the office got on the phone with his booking agent and corrected it. I would always double-check my booking if it were booked via Agoda going forward. The room was very basic - I am unsure how this is a 4-star per Google. There was no shampoo or body wash—only one tower per person (not even a floor mat). Our room was pricey considering the lack of amenities. But it is London, after all. The room was quiet, but the bed wasn’t all that comfortable.

We usually only write reviews when they are positive but we think any customer about to book this accomodation should know this. Bad vibes overall.

We won't take away the fact that the place is well located in the Shoreditch area, quiet at night, and WiFi works ok. But otherwise, we have seen too many inconveniences to consider this accommodation a nice place to stay for holidays. You are notified by email that you will be charged an extra £15 for a late check-in (£40 if after midnight) after having paid your reservation, not before. Not a very warm welcome... It appears we were here for a wedding 2 hours away from London and the staff offered no flexibility for a late check-in. We had to leave from the wedding and go back (which took us all afternoon) to avoid the extra charges for a room that was already too expensive given the circumstances.

Also, while the photos of the double room were very appealing, this is the sad reality: Dirty towels covered in dust, broken floor in the shower cabin and broken shower bar which was dangerous. The water also switched from extreme cold to extreme hot and obviously, no shampoo, or body soap or anything to that matter was provided.

Access to the terrace was closed for breakfast, so we had our breakfast on the street, which is also not great for a romantic weekend in London... in a hotel boasting photos of a terrace. It's very frustrating to have a terrace, the only positive side of the place and not to be able to use it. And overall, the room they gave us on the first floor was very small, dull, dirty and dark compared to the photos. The place is in serious need of a renovation before they welcome any future clients. Which makes us wonder why they accepted our booking. We did not feel safe. The chilly reception we received did not make us feel welcome at all. We all deserve...

Location is excellent: Tower Hamlets (Whitechapel) is a busy district of London with plenty of small cafés, restaurants, and shops in the vicinity (less than 5 minutes to the next Tesco Express e.g.). Aldgate East tube station (District, Hammersmith & City lines) is just 5 minutes from the accommodation. For people interested in the arts, you'll find Whitechapel Gallery also very close by. Another good place for street food is the "Old Spitalfields Market", which is just a short walk away, too.|Communication with the hotel via Booking.com was excellent, the check-in easy and free of problems. The entry to the hotel is just a single BROWN door between two shops. Easy to miss when walking by, but Google Maps will get you to the right place. I was greeted at the reception at noon and could check in an hour early. The person who checked me in guided me to the room and told me the location of the various shared bathrooms (two on either side). You'll get a sensor key for the main door and a code for the room.|The room itself was as I expected: The hotel photos must have been taken a while back, though. The room was large enough, the furnishings very basic (steel wardrobe and desk), but the room was clean. The floors are a bit on the tawdry side, but that was no surprise to me - and far from the worst I've seen during my many trips to London. Solid basic budget accommodation if all you need is a hub for your London adventures.|Free wifi is included, and the bathrooms were all clean and modern. Shower pressure was better than I had expected. There is NO room service included, but I didn't need one for the four nights I had booked. I wouldn't recommend it for longer stays, but if you keep your expectations in check you won't be disappointed. For breakfast I'd recommend the small Dauns Scandinavian Café on the...

Pros its very cheap, in a decent location, pretty clean, staff is kind Now that I got the good things about this place out of the way let me tell you a little about this place and my stay here. The sign to indicate the location is absolutely tiny! We had a hard time finding the place and were walking in circles, Google maps was no help. We finally had to call and the very kind woman who was running this place was able to guide us to the location. Its a step above a hostle, there is no bathroom in the rooms. Just a shared bathroom, that makes going to the bathroom in the middle of the night a hassle not to mention if its occupied youll have to wait. Which can suck especially if they are showering. There is no complementary soap or shampoo and idk how often the shower is cleaned, I did not feel like chancing getting athletes foot so I did not shower during my stay. The kitchen was clean, tho some of the dishes where grimey as I suspect guest clean them themselves. It was also so LOUD being in the city its normal to hear the hussel and bussel of city life, so there wasn't much to do about that. However the other guests where so loud in all hours of the night. The steps are very squeaky and the locks on the doors are loud. Speaking of the locks, idk how often they change the combo to open the door. That is slightly worrisome if someone has previously stayed in your room. I got little to no sleep, on a very hard bed with flat pillows. If you're able to fall asleep, I hope you are a heavy sleeper, as they set up a market outside at 7am. Yelling and dropping things, makeing all sorts of noise To me the price simply isn't worth it and I won't be staying here again or recommending anyone...
