This is my honest opinion on the quality of the market. In general, it's an amazing unusual place. Me and my children always have the best time going down the market, we have stop giggling. Right, where shall I start? Down to business, let's start with Iceland, when the druggies sneak in to steal pork chops, the security man runs but never catch him, he never gets too far. At least he tries to burn some calories. Then you get the uniform shop Ocean designs, the home of Herbert the pervert, he's not interested in selling, rather he takes interest in women's cleavages, he doesn't look at the size of the clothes, he looks at the shape of your body, so make sure u shake it. When you get into the heart of the market, you find the fruit sellers rubbing n massaging between the toes n soon after offering you cheap rotten "fresh" fruit. Hygiene is always first! And last but not least, the optician who is so business orientated, he gives himself good reviews and his mono...

A couple of decent discount shops, also an Iceland and Peacocks. Other than that there's nothing attractive about it. The area is dirty and the locals are generally rude and inconsiderate. People generally walk into you with push chairs or trolleys whilst walking through the market including Iceland where people at times walk in front of you and block your movement. People often ride electric scooters at a great speed through the market area without any consideration for pedestrians or young children. On a couple of occasions they've almost collided into myself and my partner whilst walking through the market. To summarise Watney Market is very small in comparison to others with a few stalls and shops. Not the most attractive market and nothing I can positively say stands out other than Iceland and Peacocks along with a couple of discount shops. If I never saw this market again I wouldn't...

Living close to here, it's lacking a lot. But then again, its just a tiny street boasting a market most days. Selling everything from fruit and veg, a fishmongers, clothing stalls and beddin. An honest review would detail this area has a large bengali community. So if the market sells styles of clothes reflecting this. They have a peacocks store. Chemists. Iceland. Glickmans. Wimpy. Perry ingles. 3-4 poundshops. Diy-Decorating store. A celebrations card and gift store. A charity shop. A print your pictures to canvas, the shirts, cups type shop. A car enthusiasts shop. A very good dry cleaners. A small supermarket for locals to perhaps compete Icelands. Depending on what you are used to. This isn't the best nor the worst. Just an honest grab at what's there. Two minutes away you have sainsburys and tesco express stores on commercial road. Subway....

Very fresh fruit @ amazing prices. You have to come early!!! And buy from Hussein, he runs the fruit and veg stall in the middle ish area. I'm a fruitarian and need a good supply of fresh produce. Though it's not organic, it's way better priced and often better quality than your traditional London city supermarkets. One thing that does bother me is that sometimes they will have rotten fruit on display... maybe they're trying to test wether or not they're a chance to sell it? Make sure you choose well! The produce in plastic bags are £1, but they're also older than the produce that are not packaged in the bags. I usually get fresh mangoes for £4 for a box of 12! Watney market and the market by Whitechapel is where I get 95% of my groceries. The prices simply can't be beat.

I went to Priyo Bazaar to buy fish. They were advertising on TV that all fishes are on sale. However, most fishes are on sale was very old and rotten. I bought couple of Hilsha fish and while paying I noticed that the man on the till did something fishy with my bank card underneath the till machine. I warned him if my card is cloned I will report to the police, as it happened to me before, few years ago, in the same area.

Makes getting around the area a bit hard, very slow walkers, the fruit and fish doesn't seem the freshest as I think it is just hauled out for the market every day. I've had some semi-mouldy pineapples but also so really yummy ones! Very cheap. Can get a pineapple, basket of kiwis, bananas, strawberries and melon for like 4£. Friendly clerks if you are engaging and friendly too. I live on the market.
