I ordered a small chips for £1.20, from the display menu. Whilst I waited for them to be cooked, one of the staff slowly walked over to the display with a roll of masking tape and started taping over the price of the small chips (which I'd just ordered). As he was using masking tape, it took about a dozen layers of tape and a considerable amount of time before the price was no longer visible. I stood and watched as the price slowly disappeared beneath the tape, thinking 'surely he's not going to try to charge me for a large chips'. However, when my chips were ready, the man put out his hand and in an expressionless tone that sank deep into my soul, giving me the impression that I was the absolute bane of his superior existance, he said "That's £1.50" "Sorry," I politely replied, "I think that's the price of a large chips. I ordered small chips" Then looking at me, straight in the eye, he said, "We don't sell small chips" It was only 30p difference, so I was just going to swallow the loss, unil the guy had the absolute gaul to raise his voice and shout at me for not having the correct change. Although the experience was absolutely hillarious, it's illegal. I think I'll get my chips down the road next time. Bloody well...
