I have had the worst and most vulgar experience at Eldon Square today! As soon as entered the place from the entrance opposing JD a security guard approached me in the most disrespectful, unprofessional, amateur manner asking why am I in the place? He said that I have been expelled from there earlier the day and shouldn’t have come in! I replied by telling him that I haven’t had any caution written or verbal from anyone not only today but ever since the my first ever visit to Eldon Square. He stood in front of me and said “Get out get out” I said why is that? He said I shouldn’t be there. I asked for evidence or reasoning he kept saying make your way out so disrespectfully and angrily, he was acting as if I had something personal against him! I took my phone out and started recording him to make sure he isn’t accusing me of anything later falsely. He pushed my phone down and said I can’t record and kept saying make your way out in the most spiteful attitude and manner you imagine a security could be! As I was walking out, I asked him whilst recording what his name is and give me some reasoning but he refused to! I said to him that he must have mistaken me for someone else but no proper replies. I’ve called the Police and reported him I have his face filmed on my phone and logged a complaint with the Eldon Square security management unit and spoke with a Team Leader. I am currently waiting for further actions from Eldon Square and the Police. That security guard didn’t display or exhibit any qualities of a security guard that is required for getting the job; I am absolutely appalled by how he handled that situation! He failed to give me any reasons or evidence for leaving the place, he failed to prove that I was expelled from there before on the day, he failed to prove that he has identified the right person, wow!! I am not going to let this slip! I have PTSD and your Security guard’s atrocious service qualities worsened it! Once I left the place from the front entrance he said don’t come back here again! Wow! I need every little bit of information for how and why he approached me in such a way to see if he falsely and mistakenly did this or this was a racially motivated act, in another word, this was a discriminatory act by the individual as he seemed completely clueless!! I need Eldon Square to redeem themselves whatever they do. Also, I need that security guard to apologise face to face coming from the bottom of his heart as he miserably failed to do his only job.
I called the Security Management Unit today for the 3rd time and yet a manager to get back to me for an apology, compensation and explanation. I called in and I was told that the manager has been off sick for two days, Monday and Tuesday today. I am still waiting for the manager to get back to me regarding a resolution. I am going to raise this to the Ombudsman on either tomorrow or Friday. I have filmed the incident of you clueless novice security guard that he forces me out; no use of please, can you, may I ask you! No given reasons or evidence! I am seeking for a compensation if it was mistakenly done. If this turned out to be a discriminatory act, I will sue them...

Read moreThis is an excellent shopping centre of 4 floors. Despite being busy every day and having a huge volume of footfall, the staff do an amazing job of keeping the centre clean, tidy and safe. There are plenty of places to grab a seat if you need a rest and multiple bins dotted around on your travels for convenience! The back end of the establishment features the typical high street clothing brands so if you are visiting for some textile retail therapy this is where you should head. The left wing holds two floors of eateries, mostly franchises, to accommodate for all visitors. These eateries are very reasonably priced, however it would be advisable to book a table if dining on a Friday/Saturday evening - imperatively so if you have a large party. There are also 2 blocks of free to use toilets towards the back of the centre which are maintained excellently and have enough cubicles to deter queues. It is very easily accessible due to being centre of the high street, which is easy to find via Metro, bus or train. They do have a reasonably sized car park for visitors and there is another multi-storey across the road if needed, both of which are wonderfully cheap compared to other major city parking. Newcastle council offers free parking in these lots after 5pm....
