Appalling staff and attitude! Placed a click and collect order. Went in store and stood next to the tills in the corner where C&C orders used to be fulfilled. Was spoken to like a child and asked to join the queue. When I explained I was picking up a click and collect order, was ushered to a table by the entrance of the store. A few minutes later. Someone barged strap past me and plonked a drink on the table and went back to serving other customers. A few minutes later someone shouted from behind the till to say that was my order. I advised that nobody had told me and was left standing like a spare part. No customer acknowledgement, no apology and to top it all off, I was made to feel like it was my fault for not guessing that the cup with the number 2614 was my order!?! I mean how did I not know this.
In short, there are far better coffee shops and brand offerings in Newcastle City Centre who I'll be gracing with my custom in future. App un-installed! Way to go Cafe Nero...
Read moreCoffee was lovely, but I'm guessing it was the manager that didn't let a poor girl get rid of the syrup that was accidentally poured onto her head by her colleague, when she was bending down to get something. She made her wait until she served me before she let her wash it out. The manager could've easily finished serving me, the manager even served the person behind me, it's not like she was that busy she couldn't do it! Unprofessional behaviour by her colleague as well, pulling her up on something in a shop full of people. That's something you take a person to the side to say. Thinking back it was like the colleague and manager were in cahoots to bully her or something. Disgusting behaviour, but it's not the first time I've been into Cafe Nero in Eldon Square and the manager has had bad attitude towards the staff. Seriously needs looking into. If that was me, I would've handed my notice in, reported the matter to HR and never come back. I was just in shock...
Read moreThe Nero in Fenwick is probably my least favourite Nero in Newcastle. The three stars is largely due to its good location - I love Fenwick, and because it looks decent aesthetically, there’s been some effort put into it. Some Nero’s look rather dated but I actually prefer the older ones to the feel of this, lacks character. This branch has the worst baristas by far. I’ve had more bad than good drinks from here, some of the worst tasting coffee I’ve endured. My partner sometimes likes to study here so I get my drink from the other one and take it here. As a coffee lover, and Nero fan and defender - think it’s generally the best of the chains, it’s quite painful and miserable. I find a lot of the staff here unfriendly, unprofessional and unreliable with the exception of the two more experienced staff members who are great, and maybe one or two more are fine. Takes a while for tables to be cleared too, not...
