I don’t tend to review restaurants but my experience was horrible. I ordered takeaway from their website for the first time as a celebration of finishing my degree and was told it was going to arrive within 45 minutes. After an hour, I phoned the restaurant to see what was happening. The woman on the phone was nice but didn’t seem to know what was going on, she assured me that it would arrive in the next 10 minutes and they were just quite busy, I only live a 10 minute drive from the restaurant. After another 25 minutes of waiting, I called again and explained that I ordered nearly an hour and a half ago and that I had already called. The man on the phone seemed quite annoyed and told me that the driver was on my street before either he hung up or the call disconnected. Despite the driver supposedly being on my street, my food did not arrive for another 15 minutes.
The food: It arrived cold, which was unsurprising due to how long it took to receive my order. The halloumi gyros only had 2 small pieces of halloumi in it with minimal vegetables, 95% of the wrap’s filling was chips. The pita I ordered on the side was cold and soggy. The feta chips were cold and soggy, the feta was lukewarm and had a weird flavour, it was not broken up over the chips, instead it was in large chunks. I usually love feta but along with the weird flavour, it had a weird fragrance.
They informed me they were quite busy, which I appreciate and understand. But they didn’t seem to do anything to attempt to fix the situation and seemed to be untruthful about where my food was multiple times. My food took more than double the time I was told it would and arrived it...
Read moreSO far from the best! Since 1993 I've been to over 16 Greek island and eaten Gyro Pita on all of them so, please take the review as serious critique from someone who knows. I also have Mediterranean heritage so I’m familiar with authentic food cooked my relatives
The pork was not fresh and came from a plate or tray "somewhere". as the Pitas was being prepared (I gave him the benefit of the doubt as I watched); it was dry and cold. The Gyro was not even turning on the spit and the grill flame was off when I went in, that should have been a warning to me! The Pita was soggy, cold and NOT freshly heated on the plancha as they actually do in Greece. I did find one little shaving of onion and the pita was crammed full of chips to bulk it out to avoid a sensible amount of meat. Not sure what the white stuff was but it sure wasn't tzatziki despite me asking if it was before I ordered. £6.50 for that when it’s only £.02 in...
Read moreLovely little restaurant. The first thing you notice is how clean and tidy it is. The service is very quick. I had a mixed gyro box meal, the pitta bread is fresh , soft and very nicely seasoned. The meat is full of flavour and falls apart, perfectly cooked. Im not sure if the sauces are homemade but theyre very nice and salad is clearly fresh and it’s served with fresh crispy fries. The portion sizes are fairly large, so you wont be left hungry. I would definitely eat here again and this place goes down on my list of best places to...
