I normally shop at the Birdwell Aldi but today it was easier to go to Ecclesfield. I expected the layout to be the same but it's completely different. I was doing a full shop for myself and for my mum, I couldn't find anything 🤣. I had to ask the assistant three times for things I just could not find. On a positive note the Christmas items are lovely. I bought seven Kevin Carrot advent calendars for 79p each ...excellent value. I'm also going to return for two of their potted Christmas trees £18.99 each for the side of my front door.

This store is absolutely crap the fresh vegetables for the past few weeks have been garbage. Only bought these tomatoes on thursday evening and they've split and gone all mushy already and still have a great date on them!!!! Won't be buying our veg from this store in future even the avocado's i bought have gone brown and states online they've gone off and everything has been kept in fridge. Luckily its £3.40 wasted but I normally buy bulk to last the weekend and half way though next week.

Just done my weekly shop. No complaints about that, BUT absolutely appalled at the fact there is not a single light on under the canopy or a single light on in the car park. How do you expect your customers to feel comfortable coming to their cars with no exterior lights working on site? Surely this should be a priority at this time of the year!!!

So absolutely disgusted by behaviour of staff member on self checkout this morning . Rude and confrontational with myself and other customers. No one on tills so we were all expected to put trolley loads of items through self service - no mean feat when the space for stacking will take one bag - (gotta be an expert at jenga to balance it all) - just a tip and suggestion to management at Aldi If you can’t be bothered having check out staff available at least make the self service area fit for purpose and have friendly and helpful staff working it without the attitude - yes she might have been asked loads of time why no tills open and had to experience grumbles from customers etc ( putting a full shop through self service and playing jenga as bag area to small is no fun and daunting to most people- so yes we’re gonna grumble and complain) but guess what, that’s what she gets paid for - customer service so when asked why no tills operating please don’t tell us ‘because they weren’t ‘with an attitude Shelves half empty with staff supposedly restocking but instead stood in middle of aisles chatting with each other with pallets everywhere in aisles - eventually just picked up a few items and went to Morrisons - will not be returning in future which is a shame as never had a problem before and yes I usually shop there weekly every Saturday at the same time and before today never had a problem as staff have always...

Ecclesfield store particularly suffers from stock replenishment issues, which seems to be a long standing and ongoing issue. Either replenished shelf stock is not being re ordered/restocked quick enough or it is being replenished but management and staff don't act quickly enough to get it out of the store room and back on the shelves. We use 4 different Aldi branches regularly, but the problem seems unique to o the Ecclesfield. Store. Many examples, where items are out of stock for many weeks? Very strange given modern retail systems and technologies regarding stock inventory, stock management and replenishment. Recent examples, Tonic water, non on the shelves or available in store. Visited for 6 Weeks, every week, still no Tonic water of any sort in store. However, they have about 4 pallets of soda water, which just isn't selling/moving ?? Washing machine cleaner (small blue plastic bottles), exactly the same out of stock similar period. No Salmon Wellington's at all for 5 weeks. Top selling, reserve red and white, sold out non on shelf for 2 weeks? Have raised the issue with staff politely and respectfully to several staff members, over the weeks but they just smile and offer no meaningful reason or feedback. Have asked them to raise it with local store management as it is a genuine issue. You have to go to another supermarket nearby to collect the items out of stock.????? Don't seem that bothered...

I normally shop in Lidl and decided to visit Aldi for a change since it was so long ago that I had shopped there I'd forgotten about their products.

I brought my 'normal' shop bar a couple of items.

Since then I have been slowly going through that shop...comparing like for like items for about the same money it became very obvious to me that Lidl has far superior products and taste...

OK a few items were similar and maybe on a close par but the list is endless...all their ales are nowhere as tasty as those in Lidl (excluding branded names), for example their version of a German Weiss beer and their version of the German Pilsner very noticeable and no where close to the lovely flavours of the Lidl versions. Their pasties, their cakes that were close to the best use date, fruit going off quickly, milk leaking...so many bland flavours.

So in essence I will never shop there again. I am sure some people may think Aldi are better than Lidl if you do think again. I can't wait for the current shopping to go so I can replenish with Lidl products...lesson learnt and never again.

BTW I've attached a photo of a Aldi peach that was purchased Friday, put into the fridge until Sunday and then 1 day in the fruit bowl. I have been told this can happen if it's bruised but I've never seen it before 😳 so make your...
