SPAR Penwortham — Local services in South Ribble

I shop at Spar on Liverpool Road in Penwortham. It is always a most enjoyable experience. It is a well maintained store and is regularly restocked so there is always plentiful supplies of provisions. It sells more or less everything you need if you are shopping for just yourself or a family. The staff are friendly and helpful and the service is always quick and efficient. In these times of COVID-19 the Spar in Penwortham is very good. It has a one way system for entry and exit from the store; hand sanitiser is available; face masks are compulsory for both customers and staff. There are car parking spaces at the front of the store and behind the store if you wish to visit the store in your car. It is reasonably priced as well. Really concerned after going in Spar twice today that customers are being allowed to go around the shop and purchase groceries and then be served at the till. On both occasions there was elderly people in the store. In other stores in Penwortham if you don't have a mask you are not allowed in. On both occasions I suggested that maybe a member of the team needs to be on the door making sure customers are adhering to the rules and making sure vulnerable customers feel safe to shop locally.
