The Lalbagh - Indian Takeaway — Local services in South Ribble

I found this place very average. The two curries we ordered were packed to the brim in the foil containers but the flavours seemed pre-prepared, mass produced in a big pot and not very authentic at all. We ordered a lamb balti which was rather tangy which I had never tasted from any Indian before and I'm not sure it should even have been cooked like this. Saying that, it was still edible. The other dish was a chicken jalfrezie which I would say was similar to the other curry, not very authentic, mass-produced. There should have had green peppers in it , but instead had half a container of green chillies! Ooch! But again dispite this it was still edible. Had a takeaway this evening, and it's a regular favourite with the family. Saffiq and his team regularly serve up pipng hot, brilliantly flavoured meals that we order, and the food is amazing. There are always going to be slight differences in sauces on different days, and that's normal in any cooking. But, they're always brilliant, wonderfully tasty. You can't fault the service at the Lalbagh. If it says a time for collection, you can be sure it's there waiting for you. All the staff are so friendly, you're warmly greeted and welcomed. We haven't been anywhere else for Indian takeaway for years, there's simply no need to. Nowhere is cheap any more, but this place is fantastic...

Absolutely Flavour-less. I’ll start by saying the nicest thing we had was the plain naan. Followed by the poppadoms. This is the worst Indian takeaway we’ve EVER had and after spending £35 I’d like ALL of my money back TBH. The food was awful. Far from authentic and had NO FLAVOUR, lacked spice and seasoning. The meat was tough (probably not fresh) and the onion bhaji fried to within an inch of its life. I am confused as to how the people of penwortham have let this restaurant operate and serve food of this low standard...
