If hospitality venues get shut down again, venues like Lime bar have only themselves to blame Having spent the beginning of a Saturday evening in a very Covid secure restaurant, enjoying a great dinner we chose Lime Bar for a drink after.
The two stars are for the quality of the drink and the outdoor heaters.
Sadly if the owner decides to rock up at 10pm on a Saturday night and spend 15 minutes inside without a mask, you can understand why the majority of young staff wear their mass around their chins (indoors and out).
Although the heaters can be turned on with a QR code, the drinks menus are old tatty and well handled. QR code for menus are the way forward and lots of the hospitality venues have adapted this and it is a shamen that Lime Bare has not done the same.
Obviously people have been drinking on a Saturday night after 10 and although approximately half of the clientele sat outside, wore masks when entering inside and hand sanitised the other half were intoxicated falling around and without masks.
Come on Lime, you and could be a really excellent bar for people to enjoy a great drink in a great surrounding. But with more venues open up in Penwortham you need to up your game, keep everybody safe and in current times follow...
Read moreVery rude female staff. I wouldn't normally leave reviews I don't have time but ide hate for someone to walk away feeling how we all did. Female staff hovered over me and my friends waiting for us to do the track & trace, came across far from welcoming & quite patronising. We was then asked are we there for food or drink, I advised some drinks this was then followed by a "what would you like", not "I'll get you some menus"? and this is all still whilst we was stood up not even got a seat yet. We was provided with sugar which came straight from another table!!!!! Not sanitised!!! Soon after finishing our drinks we was presented with the bill?? No more orders for us then we all said. I guess we didn't quite 'fit the picture'. Perhaps if we all visited suited and booted on a Saturday night for food & cocktails we would've had a different experience..... Highly contradicting from thier 'an offering for everyone' slogan. We went on for further drinks and dinner at the Italian restaurant opposite. Theres just no excuse for all this, We won't...
Read moreVisited the Lime Bar (or Slime Bar as most Penwortham residents call it) last night. Stood at the bar for ten minutes to watch two people get served. Eventually, a very rude blonde haired lady who we assumed is management, offered to serve us. She took around five minutes to pour two pints and two halves. It was obvious she didn’t have a clue. We commented on the slow service and she snapped back “it’s a cocktail bar not a pub.” If this is the case why are there five or six draught beers? Not one cocktail was being made by the way. We sat outside and asked three times for the heater to be turned on but she just ignored us and turned other people table heaters on. Last time in the Slime Bar for us. We will stick to all the other great bars...
