Five Stars for the best, freshest Haddock in Manchester. Batter was superb. A nice crisp texture, creamy taste and cooked perfectly. Varied size between fish portions. Fresh oil with no aftertaste. Peas great, no dye. Chips sadly only Four Stars. Small, dry and hard scraggy ends. Seemed like the bottom of old batch so I will ask for fresh next time. My Grandmama ate all her batter and left the chips...

Ahem; strange pricing anomaly: 9oz Cod, Chips & Peas £7.95 9oz Haddock, Chips & Peas £7.95

Catch of the Day? (COD) 9oz Cod, Chips, Peas with bread, butter and Tea £8.95 We asked for Catch deal with Haddock instead but they said they were unable to do this because Cod was cheaper. .. . ? Undeterred by odd mathematical logic I made my case but they stuck to their guns and we had to pay £9.70 per head to have tea with Haddock, Chips n Peas without bread. Something about attracting punters?? Just don't get your accounts done there :-D

I will be back if they don't get moody about challenging a very un-Traditional logic and hope chips be better.

That said he's a smart lad learning fast about frying...

Top Chippy, these places are a dying breed. There later opening times are most welcome too.

Fresh fish daily, often a little surprise added to the menu, like recently had Sole on the menu.

The chip are good, portions are generous.

There is also a cafe to the left and fish and chip counter to the left.

Been the same owner/manager chap there, for who knows how long, he's doing some thing right and loves his job.

They are also not adverse to taking a phone order if it's getting to close to...

Popped in for a chippy tea with my little boy and was pleasantly surprised. The staff were warm and accommodating, and the food arrived promptly. I asked for the fish to be lightly battered, and they were more than happy to oblige. The quality was excellent – fresh, crisp, and not at all greasy. My son, who’s usually quite fussy, ate everything. A really satisfying, well-prepared meal – far better than your average...
