Been a patron of this store for many years to know how much in decline its fallen into. I'm not going to mention the staff except, the consistent morrisons home delivery staff. They block the isles at every opportunity. My main concern is the quality of the produce and the prices. Fruit & vegatables are bordering on sell by date. With many products unfit for consumption after a few days in the refrigerator. The meat section is by far the worse, since the updated fridges were installed. Rump steak is tough as old boots and thats being kind, as old boots will have served you well. It might as well be called medallian steak and be cooked in gravy for 4 hours to reach tenderness. Whats more, is its increased in price by at least a couple of pounds a piece. The cake section which used to be decent, has also increased to double what it was. The state of the produce there is sub standard, with sloppy messes being offered up on soggy bases. This is supposed to be a best of British supermarket chain, but its hard to find anything classed as best. This is a niche supermarket in an old folk catchment area. I feel the residents of Reddish are not being served up to standards. I'm not one to moan but enoughs enough. It seems to me, we're all still paying for Ant & Dec's advertisement campaign a few years back. Sort it out Morrisons, look into the butchery, grocery & bakery departments. They are falling by the wayside...
Read moreNot a bad supermarket as they go. But lacking in veggie/vegan options in the non dairy and desert sections. Would love to see non sweetened alpro yoghurt, which is now available, non dairy cheeses, and Ben & Jerry's non dairy ice cream for example. Also Sukrin products duch as Peanut flour.
Seems like the interesting newer but ever so slightly less mainstream items available don't ever get in here. Tesco is beating it hands down in that respect. Also, in Sainsburys website there is a section to request products you want to see stocked and this would be a great option. There's a pizza making station but again, no vegan cheese which is a shame. Stores are catching on, but definitely missing a trick here Morrisons.
Generally though, reduced items and veg is brilliant. Love the wonky fruit and veg selection. But on a negative, the amount of plastic wrapped fruit and veg is insane. Endemic of this world I guess, but would love to see this reduced or more green alternatives.
Hit and miss sometimes, but handy and the cafe is quite a nice one. Staff generally helpful...
