I ordered takeaway from here, 4 dishes, so should have been a simple order; Salt and pepper chicken wings (a staple starter for any Chinese) Salt and pepper king prawns. Prawn chow mein. Chips ......thats it. The prawns were, honestly, really nice - crispy, with the right amount of spice...delicious. But from here it goes down hill. The chicken wings (which should have practically been done in the same way as the prawns) were dripping with soy sauce to the point where they just looked like black pieces of meat and tested the same as they looked. I asked for the prawn chow mein to be done singapore style, so slighty spicy but moist normal chow mein. Instead I got Singapore vermecilli and when I called back to talk to explain my confusion the women simply said...."we only do one kind of noodles and that is the style for Singapore" and when I tried to explain the difference and the fact that i saw someone else in ghe restaurant eating larger noodles...the woman put the phone down. And the chips were just avarage. I have only ordered takeaway from here, I have never eaten inside (and now I never will) so I don't know if the food is different when you dine with them as a restaurant (although I can't imagine why it should be) but the takeaway service is shocking...and to get good food is like betting on...

As a family we discussed the abrupt and distasteful behaviour of the serving staff at Dragon Palace, and wondered if our treatment was because we were people of colour.
In future because of our experience we will avoid Dragon Palace and Chinese...
Read moreWe have just enjoyed a delicious meal at the Dragon Palace. The setting is well presented and welcoming. Some describe it as dated but I would say it is fine and the food certainly compensates. There was a wide selection of choice including variations on set menus.
We enjoyed a soft drink, soup, crispy duck, two mains with rice, banana fritters with honey, followed by coffee and a chocolate on the side. The food was delicious and only priced at £32 for a 3 course meal for 2 persons with coffee. The meals were timed well and the service was good too.
We will certainly be returning ! The restaurant was full, so its not just us that thinks we're onto a good...
