This ReUse Shop at the main city council provided waste transfer station. Is a brilliant jewel in Sunderland City Councils approach to waste management and reducing ladfill. It is an exemplar in how to accept waste from domestic residents in the City and turn it into something useful. The Revive Workshop, cleans and checks an item is useful and it works, if it is electric it's PAT tested for example. Then it is transferred into the retail shop, ReUse. Thus turning the City people's unwanted goods and Chattels into inexpensive items other residents from the City can buy at really low prices. The shop is run and managed by St Vincent De Paul Charity. The profits from running the retail outlet and workshop are therefore are being pumped back into helping those in need in Sunderland and the wider North East. Now that's something to celebrate. Recycling reusing and reducing landfill. Providing funding for an excellent regional and local charity that does great work with those less fortunate, the homeless, and hard to reach people.
