I think that when you first see Winchester Cathedral It can have a particular effect upon you. It can certainly leave a lasting impression. I knew a little bit about churches and cathedrals beforehand. But Winchester is really a King 👑 of Kings. So I was not very familiar with the technology of the cathedral. But I knew that it would take me a long time to learn. The relatively small gift shop is a great contrast to the massive Cathedral Hall. But its shelves are very nice and well stocked with goodies including, books 📚, clothing accessories, 🧸 toys, household utensils, confectionery, beverages, pictures, collectables etc The staff are always super helpful...

Why only 3 stars you wonder, well let's start with the positive. This cafe is light airy clean and well appointed, looking beyond the servery is butifully clean kitchens as is the rest of the personell serving, polite and helpful. So now the negative, my wife used the toilets as did I, also clean tidy, but after washing hands there was nowhere to dry them, no hand drier, or towels of any kind, and clearly never has been. You are forced to seek tissue from the cubical as that is all there is. Surely not satisfactory in modern times. Otherwise...
