I started playing at Pickleball HQ in February, when I joined a beginner’s clinic with my brother. We had never played before—we just happened to see a posting on Facebook and thought it sounded fun. Our very first clinic was with Cecilia, and that was the moment I fell in love with the game.
As a Deaf person, communication is often a barrier, but Cecilia immediately made us feel seen and supported. She took the time to communicate clearly and made sure we understood every step of the way. Her patience, warmth, and deep knowledge of the game created such a positive and welcoming experience. From that very first day, she made us feel like we belonged.
My overall experience at Pickleball HQ has been nothing short of amazing. The atmosphere is friendly, inclusive, and supportive. The brand-new facility is well-equipped, and tools like the ball machine have really helped with skill development. What stands out most, though, is the staff. They’ve gone above and beyond to accommodate my needs—communicating through text or email when needed, which has been incredibly helpful.
Thanks to Chi and especially Cecilia, my level of play has improved tremendously. They’ve coached me with care and consistency, helping me build confidence and refine my skills. I’ve taken several clinics and training sessions with both of them, and I plan to keep learning from them. I'm training for a Deaf national tournament in October with the goal of reaching a 3.5 level, and I’m confident that with Cecilia, Chi, and the support of Pickleball HQ, I’ll get there.
Cecilia, in particular, is the heart of Pickleball HQ. To me, she’s like a "Pickleball Mom"—she looks after everyone on the court, always smiling, always checking in, always ready to help. She makes the place feel like home. Thanks to her, I’ve found not just a sport, but a "pickleball family". I truly believe the beginner program wouldn’t have grown the way it has without her advocacy, leadership, and care.
Pickleball HQ is more than a place to play—it’s a place to grow, belong, and connect. Whether you’re a total beginner, a competitive player, or someone just looking for community, this place can be whatever you need it to be. The team is adaptable, passionate, and still growing—which is the beauty of being part of something new. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for not just a game, but...
Read moreFive stars for Pickleball HQ is a no-brainer! About a year ago, I decided I wanted to start playing pickleball. I took a beginner clinic at another club, but had to pause due to an injury. When I was ready to return, I tried another lesson at a different club, but neither one really supported beginners. Most beginner lessons and open play sessions were only offered during the workday, and I found myself frustrated—joking that I might need to quit my job just to play pickleball!
Despite repeatedly asking for more accessible scheduling, nothing changed. I was close to giving up—until I saw an ad for Pickleball HQ. After enthusiastically reaching out to the owners (probably borderline harassing them!) to confirm that they would actually offer beginner classes and weekend/evening open plays, I decided to join as a Founding Member. And I’m so glad I took the leap!
Since then, I’ve taken classes with Cecilia, Chi, Anthony M., and Ellen. They’ve helped me not only to understand the basics but also the rules and finer points of the game. Through these clinics, I’ve met great people, and we started joining open plays together. I was so nervous before my first open play with Cecilia—I’m not naturally athletic—but she made all of us feel welcome, capable, and confident, all while giving helpful tips and encouragement.
Over time, I started seeing familiar faces, we exchanged numbers, and a true pickleball family formed. Cecilia got to know our group and has assisted in expanding beginner and advanced beginner open plays in the evenings and weekends. It’s incredible to be part of a club that supports all skill levels, not just the most experienced players.
I even convinced my husband to join, and now he loves it just as much as I do! The open plays are fun, inclusive, and packed with energy. Thanks to Cecilia’s guidance and courtside coaching, we continue to grow our skills week by week—while laughing a lot along the way.
I really hope HQ continues utilizing the format of one coach at each open play. That kind of personal attention and encouragement is what makes Pickleball HQ so special—and why we keep...
Read moreI've been a member of this pickleball club for the past 2 weeks, and I have to say that it's been an absolute delight. The facility is top-notch, with well-maintained courts and a comfortable clubhouse. But the real reason I keep coming back, and the reason my friends and I joined, is because of Coach Cecilia.
Coach Cecilia is simply the best. Her passion for the sport is infectious, and her coaching skills are unparalleled. She has a way of breaking down the game and helping players of all skill levels improve their technique and strategy. Thanks to her guidance, I've become a much more confident and skilled pickleball player.
In fact, I'd go so far as to say that Coach Cecilia is the reason I joined this club in the first place, and the reason I've stuck around. She's an absolute asset to the club, and I truly believe she deserves a raise. If the club doesn't recognize her value and compensate her accordingly, I'll be forced to cancel my membership, along with my friends. She's that good, and that important to our pickleball experience.
Overall, this club is fantastic, but Coach Cecilia is the real star. If you're looking to improve your pickleball game and have an amazing time doing it, I can't recommend this club enough. Just make sure you get to know Coach Cecilia – she's the reason it's...
