I've got to give three stars for my experience although I'd definitely return and consider a different rating. Very nice and friendly people and the job was done. Now for the story.
I brought in a winter coat with a pinhole on the wrist (large enough to release the down, though) Tuesday after work (so around 1750). I knew he was closing before arriving and accepted the coat wouldn't be ready until the next day. To be sure, I pointed out the hole and we agreed on a $5 price (to me this was a bargain).
Returning the next day after work (so just before closing again) to pick up the coat and it wasn't ready yet; he'd not marked where it was on the coat. So, I showed him again, he marked it this time and I'd agreed to come Thursday. It was ready Thursday, I called and came to retrieve it, charged $5.
Not a lot of drama, but it would have saved me a trip (about a half hour) if he'd either marked it initially or called to ask instead of waiting until I came to retrieve it the first time.
I so wanted to give him five stars, too (as well as a tip but he's the owner and tipping business owners [even my maid] makes me uncomfortable). The coat was stitched satisfactorily but that little hiccup for a simple stitch cost...
Read moreAbsolutely blown away by my experience at Giuseppeâs! From the moment I walked through the door, I was greeted like family by Giuseppe and his wonderful wife. Their warmth and friendliness instantly put me at ease, and their passion for their craft is obvious in every stitch.
I brought in a pair of pants that I needed tailored urgentlyâless than 24 hours before an eventâand they not only said yes without hesitation, they had them done perfectly and ahead of schedule. The fit was flawless. Itâs rare to find that level of skill and customer service in one place.
Giuseppe is a true master of his trade, and his wifeâs eye for detail and kindness made the whole process feel like I was in the hands of old friends who just happen to be incredibly talented.
If you need tailoring done rightâand with heartâGiuseppeâs is the only place to go. Five stars doesnât even begin...
Read moreBrought in a dress to be hemmed and two pairs of leggings with a runaway thread to be fixed. The dress was too long (by several inches) after being hemmed and they didnât let me try it on in the shop when I picked it up. One pair of leggings came back with a snag in them so theyâre basically ruined and one pair looks to have been stitched by hand very poorly. If I wanted a mediocre hand stitch I would have done it myself. On top of all this, it was very expensive, I paid $135 for all three. Will not be...
