bought a expensive mattress the "Belmont " Plus a mattress protector. $1200.00 dollar purchase rodney was the first sales rep to approach me as soon as I walked in. I ask where the mattress section was,so he took me in this room and starting price was 2200.00 dollars, I liked the mattress comfort. I work to hard to spend amount like that.covid forced all or most of us to save money .unfortunately I was considered "Essential Personal ".so I didn't collect a hefty check to stay home I busted my a** to earn my pay. So after we got out of high end beds,we went to 750.00 to 1500.00 which was still a little pricey. But I had a nice BANK building up cause no where to go shop or eat first 7weeks we were forced to stay home except Essential personal. Now we are up to speed,I like the furniture they sell and quality cost money but it would be a little less costly if we bring back our own factory's making this stuff.so I found a mattress w/pillow top decided to pay cash instead of finance placed order agreed to a delivery day and time.so no body called me they emailed me instead .I preferred text or call.dometimes email gets put in trash if it look like spam.so delivery time originally was 1:45pm Wednesday, so I emailed back said if you could move me up with cancellation I had a lot of things I was doing. So nobody contacted me so I figured we are set for 1:45pm Wednesday. So I started out at 7:30 am Wednesday getting a jump on my to do list .I'm picking up boxes from local market. My phone was ringing,so I said hello the voice on the other side said raymour& flannigan we are delivering your mattress and box spring w/ protector,we will be there in 1/2 hour. I said yes ok I'll be there.20 mins later I got home and my phone rings again. Mr c that's me for short,Driver on phone calls and said we have to go back to warehouse forgot box spring. I said what does tha mean? He said about 2 hours,I said ok I'll wait for you to call me when your on the way about 10 minutes away.3 hours go by .so I call the store.customer service personal answered says what's wrong I explained my situation keep in mind 1:45 was originally the time.so we were back and forth I call driver I on my way 1/2 hour. Hour goes by I call store again.she seemed very nice apologizing for the inconvenience. So I said ok things happen.so I'm still not hearing from the guy. So I called him again and he said he was still coming this time it was hour so I call store and at this point I feel like a jacka** .so I ask to speak to a mgr.he gets on phone I explained things to him. He said let me call the dispatch at the warehouse. I said ok but I want to reschedule for Thursday morning.he says let me call you back.so 15mins goes by I'm frustrated cause I was already lied to by driver mgr says he got in touch with warehouse manager and said they are on the way ,I got the message on a voicemail I put the phone down and did something around house.since wasn't going any where soon.so the 20 minutes they told the store mgr now was 40mins,so I reached out to the store manager and said I'm Cancelling my $ 1200.00 order.we are on phone at this time finally driver showed up.wants to come in where I had the box spring and mattress ready.he wanted to come in I said put your mask one had to go back to the truck and than I let him in.he took the mattress out but said he couldn't take it cause it looked like a stain on it, so he took the box spring after asking it was clean I said it still in the plastic so he bagged the mattress all this going on while I have the store manager listening. So he says we we take a 100.00 dollars off the cost for all my troubles. That was the brightest part of the whole...
Read moreSharif was the salesperson who sold us a couch and said he would waive the delivery and installation fee. I was hesitant to make the sale since I needed my dad to help remove my old couch first. However, Sharif explicitly said that removing the old couch would be included in the delivery and installation fee that was waived. My girlfriend took off work to wait for the delivery and it never came. Supposedly, in order to the waive the fee, they had to put it in their system as a "pickup" order, and we called Sharif back to remedy the issue. At the time of delivery a few days later, the workers said it would be an additional fee to remove the old couch. With the new couch already there, we paid the fee. I had left an email for Sharif regarding this, and contacted the store to get in touch, however, the receptionist would say "Sharif is busy with a customer. I can take a message and he can call you back". This would happen for days in a row, and it started to feel like Sharif was avoiding communication with us to resolve the issue. The receptionist eventually transferred us to the manager, Michael, who tried to claim that R&F only removes mattresses, never couches. Whether that was legit or not, the workers did in fact remove a couch and charged us for it at the time of delivery. We requested a gift card to make amends of the issues we had and cover the removal charge, however, said they "never charged us for a removal" according to their records, and said the removal fee we mentioned "wasn't really that much", which seemed very pretentious to assume. This experience with R&F overall felt like there was a lack of transparency with customers and that they did not care about maintaining good rapport once a...
Read moreA month or so ago I ordered a mattress, box spring and frame over the phone. Am a handicapped senior - unable to go to the store. I took a chance at the salesperson's recommendation, bought their generic pillow top twin xl set. She'd advised me it was "firm" - just the opposite - very soft. I decided to order the same merchandise for my guest room. A few days ago, the delivery men arrived early, 45 minutes a.m. before schedule. That was ok. What wasn't okay was that they were in a big hurry to get in and out. I wasn't upstairs when the unit was set up. After they left, I rode my stairlift upstairs, only to find they'd left a heavy steel bar (taller than I am) leaning upright against my antique mahogany chest of drawers - could have easily tipped over on my cat or, for that matter, onto me. I phoned to report it and was told it was part of the order - that I could use it later on if I wanted to make the bed frame bigger. If that had been the case, then that should have been explained and I should have been given the option to keep it or not - no such thing. Just negligently leaned it up against my furniture in a potentially dangerous, hazardous manner. $1,600 later, I phoned the store today requesting it be picked up. Instead of taking responsibility for their negligency, again, the "manager" stated it was part of the bed frame and she'd look into it. Got tired of being placed on hold three times, reported them to R & F Corporate in Liverpool, NY. Thankfully, got an intelligent receptive rep on the phone who apologized and promised to take care of their shoddy business practices and have the thing removed...
