I stayed here for my Freshman year of college. They make so many empty threats and punish the kids who are really trying to be good when they just barely do something wrong. Meanwhile, the student with repeated infractions get nothing. People who are consistently caught with drugs (and worse) are not kicked out like this place as promised. I was harassed nearly the entire year by one of my roommates and they refused to move her out of the room. She even stopped staying in my room, but they wouldn’t take away her key so she would come into the apartment and steal things during the night while we were sleeping. She was caught with plenty of things plenty of times and I was always ensured changes would be made, but they never were. It was only until 3 months before the school year ended in February that she was removed from my room, and that was only because she had decided to leave. I had been having issues with her since September. For 6 months I was harassed, and I was so stressed out the entire time. There were nights I had to sleep on the floor of the living room just to make sure she wasn’t coming in to steal things out of the kitchen from me. My anxiety was always so high here, and every single time I started to approach the place after a school break I would have an anxiety attack. Needless to say, I won’t be staying here again. They are also extremely expensive, at over $5000 per semester, per student. It was a very small apartment and we had to share rooms even though we were each paying $1000 a month (utilities included) and this doesn’t include a meal plan. The apartments are also always really cold, year round, to where everyone is always complaining. There were times I needed to wear a coat to sleep. They also don’t allow space heaters or heated fans because it is a fire hazard. Also, expect many middle of the night and in the cold fire drills and non-drills because people like to pull the alarms or set off the alarms because of their cooking. I have a new apartment off campus where I pay $500 per month, utilities included, and I have 4 roommates and we each have our own rooms. Also, they really tell you the shuttles are a lot better than they actually are. They are never on time or on schedule, and some of the drivers drive crazy. They tell you it’s easy to get groceries because there is a shuttle to Target, but what they don’t tell you is that you can’t take the shuttle from Lions Gate. You have to take a shuttle from Lions Gate to campus, then campus to Target, and then target to campus, and campus to Lions Gate. This turns into like an hour or more to get back to the apartments, which by them all frozen foods are defrosted and your milk has gone bad. It’s much more worth it just to take the 55 bus back to the apartments as it’s a 5 minute drive or even taking the 30 minute walk back (which I have done, it’s really not bad). Lions Gate really isn’t worth staying at unless you want the “freshman experience” of staying in dorms or if you need to for financial aid. The only nice thing was the RAs. Mervana was my RA (but I think she graduated this year) and she was always so nice and understanding. I really don’t recommend. Off campus really is...
Read moreGO TO COLLEGE STATION INSTEAD! This is one of the most realistic reviews you will find here. Lionsgate does provide activities for students to participate in throughout the school year, which the RAs assist with, but they get boring, and fewer and fewer people attend, so they will lie and start to say that going to these activities are a part of your housing requirements to get housing the following year (BTW housing for sophomores and upper class men is not promised)!!! But I will warn you now that if you have other options, you should not live here because listen here. If you have a bad roommate conflict, Lionsgate cannot physically remove the person unless it is a life or death situation; otherwise, housing will ask YOU to move out instead or simply tell YOU to deal with the situation. If there is a problem, housing will call a meeting with your apartment, but these meetings are pointless. Lionsgate does nothing to address bad roommates or punish them for their actions; instead, they issue empty threats. Having a bad roommate will have a negative impact on your mental health as well as your academic performance. Believe me I didn’t know what I was getting into nor did I have an idea how such a situation would have such a significant impact on me and my classes! Another thing is that they do not do the matching roommate personality quiz like other colleges do. It is really just randomized, so having a bad roommate is very...
Read moreTerrible management! I lives in supplemental housing and filed out intended roommates in April. However, the office changed my roommates the day before the school started (because only one of them is not coming). Everything happened without any notification until I discovered it myself! It is such a suffering experience to live with somebody who have different life style and being painful to know it before the unstoppable...
