Shake Shack Jenkintown — Restaurant in Abington Township

My friend and I had never been to a Shake Shack before so when the one in Jenkintown opened up, we were very enthusiastic to try it.

We went there yesterday which was a Monday just before 5 PM. We walked in and were greeted kindly by one of the staff members. The place is very clean with ample seating. We then made our way to the counter and there was an island with several screens to order. We weren’t sure exactly what do when Tara, the young lady at the register behind the counter said that she could help us.

She was extremely kind, pleasant and patient with us, especially being first timers and not being too familiar with the menu. She walked us through some of the various menu items and could not have been nicer and informative!!! With her really nice personality, she is someone that you’d definitely want to be the face of your establishment and one of the first faces a customer should see.

We ordered a couple of Big Shack burgers, fries and drinks. Tara gave us a number placard and told us the food would be brought to us so we sat down and anxiously awaited our food. The wait was actually minimal and food arrived both hot and correct.

We were super impressed with the food! The burgers were extremely tasty and the fries were great also!! As we were eating, we were approached by another staff member, Nyriah and she was also extremely bubbly and just downright nice! She came by to offer us refills on the drinks. It was honestly one of the most pleasant experiences my friend and I have had and we now have an additional restaurant on our list!!!

We hope to try other sandwiches and the other tasty looking offerings!! We even took a Big Shack home for my friend’s Dad and he also loved it!!!

Rest assured with your kind and considerate staff and super duper burgers, we will certainly return!!!

Man, I was so excited for Shake Shack to open here - I loved their truffle burger when they had it and love the drinks and fries. However we won’t be going back and that’s a bummer. One of the order kiosks was down, no one was talking orders at the registers, so we had to wait to just place our order. While doing so staff around us were cursing and playing around. Finally got to order, sodas were out. Waited 20 minutes for 2 burgers and fries. Never received the text notif that it was ready, no one brought the food. Bit into my burger and it was chewy, rubbery. I looked at it and it was pink inside. I told an employee who said they’d make another but I didn’t want to wait ANOTHER 20 minutes for a burger and was pretty turned off at that point so I declined. The manager or who I’m assuming was the manager refunded my card, barely said anything other than “swipe your card” and walked away. No apology, barely looked at me and looked really annoyed. Oh and my strawberry lemonade had no ice in it, not one cube, and I didn’t feel comfortable asking for ice after the rude treatment we received.

This location needs to get it together. The amount of people waiting for food for at least 20 minutes was a lot and the number of orders we saw going back or having to get remade was high. Staff were unprofessional and it was a super...

The owner and managers should be embarrassed how terrible this place operates and with the employees that work there. 5 employees at 1 register telling someone no we can't help you go to a kiosk. That person works across the street at the car dealership and walked out. So I guess you've lost their business. But they didn't care because they were hanging out with friends and laughing not caring about the job they have. No one greeted us. Every interaction with an employee seemed like they were disgusted to be there and have to talk with people. Too many employees hanging around after their shift. Dirty tables not cleaned up. Ordered fries and 1 milkshake but it took 20 plus minutes. If you don't fire these people you have failed as a business owner...
