I ordered a Phalaenopsis Schilleriana (front) and a Neofinetia (Vanda) Falcata (back)

They came wrapped in paper and well supported. They arrived in good condition, looking healthy with no issues.

I should mention that these plants were sold to me as young plants, but I was pleasantly surprised at how mature they already were. The Phal. Schilleriana has a leaf span of 11 inches (including both sides) and the Neofinetia already had two basal keikis!

The Neo was potted in a basket with just a small bit of bark with most of the roots bare (though protected with a plastic cover for shipping) and I haven't repotted it yet, but it is doing well with misting daily and soaking 15 mins every other day.

The Phal. Schilleriana was potted in 100% sphagnum moss, which is great for a seedling and probably cuts down on labor and watering that they had to do at the greenhouse, but not what I want for my mature plant. There was no root rot, but the roots were pretty coiled together in the small pot, and it looked like a situation that could have created rot if left like that longer. Raising orchids is a hobby and I don’t pretend to know everything about them. I live in Wisconsin and don’t have much access to good orchid growers. My sister however lives right there in Addison. I asked her to pick one out for me. She called and was overwhelmed by the environment and selection. We decided on this beautiful Catt. When she arrived with my special delivery, I left it in the box only unwrapping it’s leaves and blooms for the evening. This morning I removed it from the box. I am beyond amazed at this plant. Healthy, strong, fragrant, just gorgeous. On closer observation as the plant relaxed I noticed not one but two additional separate spikes, And three more beyond those with emerging skins. I cannot express how pleased I am. I couldn’t find anything like this anywhere for the price, not to mention the cost of delivery. Thank you to the folks at Hausermann!
