Great Clips — Local services in Affton

2 weeks ago today I went to this location to have my hair cut, arrived just after 4 PM. Was immediately asked if I'd scheduled on their and explain that I hadn't. No sign(s) indicating that this was a must. After I checked in with Kathy (she cut my hair uneven before, was hoping that the other stylist would be available to cut my hair) when I started to mention that I was going to pick up a couple of items at Schnucks, she told me not to leave in case one of their online scheduled customers didn't show. It was 4:48 when Kathy finished with her customer and they close at 5 (didn't want a 10 min. haircut from her. The other stylist's male customer was chatting with her, whispered something in her ear, she replied with OOH!, surmise that he may have said something inappropriate to her that apparently she found to be funny. I walked out for my reasons noted above, will not be returning to this salon.

I emailed to the address provided by "the owner" with what I'd posted above and never received a reply. I guess they don't need my business (don't care), was going to have my hair cut at one of their other locations, but not anymore, done with...

When growing up I used to hear a lot of bad stuff about Great Clips and how they would give scuffed as heck haircuts, when it honestly just takes good communication with the barber. The best part about Great Clips is that they leave notes for future visits, so if you liked a certain cut you had, the same person can reproduce the haircut, or a different employee can help you get what you want. Barbers can't work magic unless you give them what you want and need and I've had good discussions with the people that work here. They will also give suggestions on what to do with your hair if you have any hair needs or common hair errors. Not very happy but not horrible. The hairstylist, Kathy, was not very friendly. The layers of the cut was cute however, she was more concerned of her 'artistic' view than what I wanted. When I questioned her about the length she said, "You wanted the same hair cut ( which I did say, but a lot shorter which I did tell her) and I was following the "sheet" She told me my hair would stick out, if she cut over my ears. I had to go back in because I need my hair cut short for my job. I paid w a 20.00 and regret letting her keep the five for a tip. I will not return to...
