I visited this salon after seeing all of the glowing reviews and had a great consultation with Justine. The appointment came and I started with a haircut to get rid of all of my split ends. I'm happy with how the cut turned out.
Next, hair color. I was clear that I wanted only the bottom third of my hair lightened and then dyed grey/silver, getting the lightest possible at the very tips. (I know that silver is a difficult color to achieve without frying your hair, which is why I asked a professional.) I came armed with examples of what I wanted and I went over them with Justine. I stressed the bulk of my hair remains natural. She was nice and made me feel comfortable throughout the consultation and the appointment.
She started in with the bleach and I expressed concern when I saw how high up the foils were getting. She assured me that it wasn't as high as I thought and it will peak out from behind the brown hair (not what I asked for), but I thought she was simply doing a quick lightening process to prepare for a second bleach for lighter ends. After toning it in the sink, she excitedly said that it was coming out silver.
She took me to the mirror and I was horrified. There were blocky, cheap looking, yellow-blonde chunks as close as 2.5" from my scalp. My tips were beige/tan at best. Not white, not silver, not grey. Which, again, I know is difficult to get, but I couldn't believe she was trying to pass it off as silver, or any shade of grey for that matter.
So, I cried. To which, no one acknowledged.
Kelly was called over to fix it, and she assured me that they will give me something I was happy with. She matched my natural brown and colored over the excessive/high-up "blonde.". As she lifted up layers of my hair in the mirror, I could see entire sheets of yellow. No blending at all. Kelly guided Justine in mixing a grey, which seems like something Justine could have asked for help with before we got to this point.
After another couple of hours before my hair was washed out so that I could see the final results, I was asked to pay, by Justine, which was awkward when I had to tell her what I was tipping everyone. (I now wanted to tip Kelly in good faith.)
They dried my hair and the grey color was alright, but still no lighter gradient towards the tips. I said it was much closer to what I wanted and thanked them for their time because it was after 10 pm and we all wanted to go home. Besides, my hair was damaged enough.
Over $360 (including tips) for a dye job that I could have botched on my own.
Even though Justine was clear that she didn't want to damage my hair, I was never offered any sort of conditioning or protectant treatment, so all of the dead ends I cut off? They're back. My tips are just as crunchy as they were before the cut. My head of virgin hair? Nope. Now, to let it grow out again and continue coloring it at home.
I regret leaving this review because the rest of the staff was very kind and professional. The salon was clean and organized. It had great energy. And Kelly, who had cut my mom's hair earlier that day, took the time to coach my mom on how to grapple with her post-chemo curly hair. She went the extra mile for us. Thank you, Kelly.

Read moreI have been a customer at Salon Tres Chic and Day Spa in Agawam, MA for over 15 years. Throughout those years, I have witnessed several changes: an increase in square footage, updated work stations, new stylists, different paint colors, but one thing that never changes is the feeling I get when I walk into the salon. I feel like Iâve arrived at a friendâs home. Every employee knows all the customersâ names, not just their own clientsâ names, and they welcome you with sincerity. There is a collaborative relationship amongst the stylists at Salon Tres Chic that I have never observed at any other salon. The stylists can often be seen discussing color formulas in order to achieve the exact look for which the client is asking, sweeping each otherâs stations, or helping out at the desk if needed. The ownership & management team of Mary Ann Zicolella and Christina Radcliffe encourages and provides training and continuing education for the staff so that the stylists are proficient in the latest beauty trends. My husband, children and I are all clients of Master Stylist, Lindsey Roy; however, due to reasons such as illness, vacation time, scheduling conflicts, we have had several different stylists provide our services and we have always been satisfied. We know that because of the teamwork and training at Salon Tres Chic, we can trust every stylist on the floor to deliver the look each of us is seeking. Over the years, I have referred several people to Lindsey Roy as well as other stylists, and every one of them has become a loyal customer. Even my nephew, who is only here twice a year from California, comes in to the salon to get his haircut by Megan Shepard. Whether you are considering a dramatic new haircut, a fun and trendy color, or to maintain your current look; or you need a uniquely beautiful hair style for your prom or naturally stunning make-up for you wedding; or you want to treat yourself to a mani-pedi, facial or massage, I highly recommend you contact Salon Tres Chic and Day Spa in...
Read moreAbsolutely amazed with my experience at this salon. I'm 18 and went alone and I was a little nervous walking in because I did not know what to expect. The building was extremely convenient and easy to find and from the second I walked in the door I felt very welcomed and comfortable. I was extremely worried going in about my spray tan because I'm very light skinned and didn't want to look orange on Prom night. Everyone was super reassuring and Christina talked me through every little detail beforehand. Diane did my nails which turned out better than i could have asked for and I also had my eyebrows waxed for the first time. The entire experience was very very pleasant and I do not plan on going anywhere else for any of these...
