I decided to try this salon out for my service dog since the self-serve was a little less costly and you got more time than you did at the previous grooming place I used. It was the best decision I made for my dog's grooming needs and I will not be changing anytime soon.
The man that is always working there when we go in on Saturdays (I believe he is the owner) is very knowledgable and he isn't on my back about the time limit, which is really nice because I often need a break due to my disabilities. It turns out their prices for their grooming services are all less expensive and you don't have to pay extra to "upgrade" and get your dog brushed out. We're talking literally HALF of what it would cost to have my dog done at Petsmart, where I'd probably pick him up to find he was shaved or something ridiculous. Outside of price, there is also the factor of the tubs being in their own little rooms so you have some privacy. The only thing I didn't like about that is that it does get a little warm and very humid (it's a tub, after all). I also wish there was a stool or something to sit on for people like myself that already have a hard time.
The store also have a good selection of both dry kibble AND raw food along with some yummy treats and gear for your pet. It's always very clean and well managed as well.
Overall I love this salon and the staff working it. I suggest it to everyone I knowand we drive all the way from...
Read moreGood Dog came highly recommended by close friends of ours, and it was a great recommendation!
My primary experience at this point is giving our dog a bath. They have clean facilities. Since it was my first time there, the gentleman working gave me a quick (but thorough) walk through. They provide everything needed to give a dog a bath: apron (to help keep you dry), shampoos, towels, and blow-dryer.
While paying, I visited some with Erica. She was very knowledgeable. She demonstrated how one of the leashes they sell works, and I watched our energetic, 10 month old lab quickly settle down and be willing to cooperate with her. --Excellent investment! (Thanks, Erica!) I can now enjoy taking our dog in much needed walks without her trying to drag me all over the tri-state area.
Cons: When I first arrived there was no one at the counter for a little while. He was off toward the bathing rooms with another customer. It was definitely worth the slightly awkward wait. Still, it might be worth investing in a "be right back" sign and...
Read moreThis pet store has a fantastic concept with a great selection of products and services. Albeit, pricey - the store is well-organized and clean. The female staff is friendly and helpful to an extent, until the rather rude tone I received today when noticing I have “another” dog now. .
More importantly, my experience with the male groomer was disappointing. He seems to work up front sometimes too so i don’t what his actual position is with the business but he consistently has a bad attitude and comes across as rude—not just toward customers, but also toward the dogs. A groomer/dog store owner/worker should be patient and kind, but I’ve noticed him being rough and dismissive, which makes me question whether I’d trust him with my pet again. This is a shame.
If management addressed this issue, (unless he is the manager which is even worse) this place would easily be a five-star store. Until then, I wouldn’t recommend this store for shopping (above retail), nor grooming services...
