It's difficult to find info about what to expect here. Went to street outlaws on Saturday, parking was detoured and not clearly marked and $20 which is fine but wasn't expecting that since we had been the 2 previous Saturdays which we parked in the pits. Long walk! I mean it's close to a mile to the tower side. Tickets $25 each OK but no explanation of what VIP is or the other options. When we parked we asked about drinks and coolers which we were told water was OK that's it because they had ran out. Glad we brought our own smaller cooler. Asked about chairs because the concrete seating is not OK for hours. Told us chairs were not allowed, so we left them at the car. Once inside noticed hundreds of people with chairs! Very upset because the two previous weeks there were chairs allowed. People are smoking pot in the stands pretty often and I know nobody in Washington cares but it's not a good look for a family type event. OK getting to the meat of my issue with the organization, the first hour there we saw 5 cars make runs, 3 were singles, long waits between races for no apparent reason. This is the same as the grudge weekend and last weekend where there is just long periods of nothing at all and then all of a sudden there is 8 to maybe 10 races in a row and another half hour wait. Not one time was there any explanation of a timeline or schedule of what's going on. The public address system is hard to hear in all but a few areas and sometimes they are talking while the cars are way louder than the speakers. Understand that the facility is being put back into better condition and it does look OK, I want them to succeed. Some positives I did see was the bathrooms are clean and the staff is friendly everywhere although they are clearly in the dark about what's going on too. Heard them talking about how things don't make sense and they didn't know what was going on. The racing is good! The grudge races and street outlaws are impressive but there is not very many of them so between their races there not really anything going on. They have a huge opportunity to make this into the coolest track in the world with all the other features of northern quest, but I've seen similar stuff at the casino where they've had unorganized events leave you wanting more. Good luck on finding a true visionary to get it where...
Read moreWent to Friday night West Coast Grudge event. The track prep looked on point and when racing was happening it was thoroughly enjoyable to watch. I could have done without the announcer constantly talking, mostly gibberish. He did not know much about the cars or drivers. The food choices could also be better. No one wants to pay for dried up crusty burgers or hotdogs. Talk about instant upset stomach. There were also not many spectators which did not surprise me because waiting an hour for clean up with nothing to be entertained with is a mood killer. I’m really looking forward to No Prep Kings in a few weeks but also worried the track facility is not prepared for such a big event.
Attended the NPK event on 8/17. The event was awesome! We are huge fans of NPK racers and were excited to see them at our home track. The program ran smooth with minimal downtime between races. Few things I want to provide honest feedback for the track. One is the lack of food/drink concessions to support an huge event like this. I stood in line for an hour to get something to drink and eat. I’m glad we came somewhat prepared and brought a cooler of drinks that we took multiple trips out to the car to grab. Unfortunately we did not bring enough for a 12 hour day so we had to drink what we had sparingly to make it last. One of my friends resorted to refilling their water bottle with the track faucet because they were desperate and dehydrated. It was a very hot day and shade was limited so you were out in the sun all day with no access to water without standing in line for an hour. Which brings me to another issue. There were hardly any areas with shade. The facility needs to set up more tents or canopies so we are not fried in the sun all day. Bees were also an issue. So many bees!! My poor friend got stung and I spent most of the time in the stands avoiding the bees. A few bee traps would not hurt to place through the facility to help deter the bees. I was impressed with how clean the bathrooms were and stayed throughout the entire event. Overall the event was great and we are hoping NPK comes...
Read moreJust started going here again after taking quite a few years off. What a terrible decision I've made. At the beginning of the season was a 75 lap race and demo derby. Awesome! Nope. Gates open at 5 but there is so much other time wasting nonsense that the race didn't end until almost midnight. We left at 12 and skipped the demo derby. That is just too late and too long to keep kids busy without spending gobs of money on food and gear (which is probably the point).
Skip to a few weeks ago. K&N Pro Series race. Gates open early again, 4 or 5. We are there ready to roll. Qualifying is going well but they then take the time to line up the cars and invite the public down to the track. Ok. Should be doing this before or after the driving starts but whatever. It starts to rain bad. Can't prevent that. There is a considerable delay but the announcer keeps saying they are going to continue. Then nothing. No updates as the rain continues to pour. The only thing announced is that there is food and drinks for sale still. Skip ahead to about 7:45PM. The weather is clear and the track is pretty dry. Main event was scheduled for 8:15, so this thing has a chance! Then they invite the public down to the track again....... are you kidding me?? Almost no one goes because this is beyond stupid when it's 8PM, rainy, 45 degrees, and we have yet to see a single minute of actual racing. So, they get the cars going. All 22 are fired up, in motion, and it isn't that far past the scheduled start time. And then they wave the yellow flag.... for hundreds of laps... and 2 hours. At 10:30PM the race had not started yet. I asked for my money back (which they did) and left.
This place is not managed well at all. The communication is pathetic, it's a clear money grab for concessions, and the track and stands are in such bad shape there are warning signs to not walk near the edge because it might collapse. Go...
