Some of the nicest, most professional, most joyful, and knowledgeable people in music I have met in Ohio. Truly impressed!

This is a great music store with a fantastic selection, but I was most impressed by Julie's kindness and knowledge about everything musical we spoke about, and by her honesty and willingness to help with the correction of something that happened with an instrument I purchased from another music store (I won't mention the name here). She really didn't have to be that awesome, but she figured out a creative way that made things right not only for me, but even for the other music store to maintain a positive outlook, and secured business with me for A Max Music in the future while doing this.

That's grade A class, and in the eyes of this beholder, rare, priceless, and excellent business all at the same time.

The staff at A Max Music went out of their way to do the very best deal possible considering what we had to work with, and while there, everything I saw them do for other customers too was genuine. When someone cares about you both as a customer and as a human being, you can really feel it, and that's a great thing. Julie and Brandon were 110% on everything, and really made my first time at their store a delightful experience.

I noticed that random customers came in and chatted up a storm randomly, carefree, and happily. When they too are that comfortable, what it said to me as that this is the type of store and the type of people that musicians enjoy coming to see, and people that really make music come alive and keep music alive for all of us.

I wanted to leave the best review possible to reflect my personal experience there today, and let them know how much I appreciate them working with me and making it a wonderful experience from A-Z. I will gladly be back. :)

The staff and owners are friendly, genuine, and generous with their knowledge. I have made purchases from $10 up to $500 over the few months since I found them, and each deal has been great and beneficial to my music career. It is an easy place to feel at home to play and sing out loud if like. Also very family friendly. Bonus: the staff is no salesmen; all musicians. I would like to update my post to include newer and even better experiences for myself here at A Max Music. My price range on purchases has grown well past the previous top of $500 to nearly $2000 for a Taylor 224ce-K DLX purchased August 15, 2025. I had been working out the details over the previous 2 weeks with Julie, the owner, but on August 8, an accident at home fractured my right femur. After surgery and my release from the hospital, instead of going straight home to begin convalescing, I first went to a friend’s house near the music store. While I waited on her sofa, she went to see Julie who sent her back to me with the beautiful Taylor in its amazing hardshell Taylor issued case. Only then, did I go to my own home, my family, and my own bed; in which I remained nearly 6 weeks, playing the guitar every day. The perfect tool to keep my spirits up. Also, between you and me, I’ve heard rumors of a possible expansion of the current store, providing a fair amount of new square footage. I hope this is true, and wonder what they might stock in there. I should mention as well, the large variety of customers who shop there as they are also lovers of music and performing and friendly, eager to talk to other customers and swap stories. I was searching for a piano dealer near me. I found this gem of a Music store. They don't just sell pianos. They have just about any instrument you can think of. This is not your typical big box feel store. This is a family owned local business. Julie and John were great. Julie was very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. They had new pianos, used pianos and refurbished pianos. I ended up purchasing a refurbished Yamaha U1 upright piano. They have alot of grand pianos. Unfortunately I don't have the space for one. Pricing is fair. On time no hassle delivery. And they offer lifetime upgrades. So they will give you your full purchase price of your existing piano towards another piano of your choice. You cannot downgrade. Makes sense to me. Since I had such a great experience purchasing my piano. I have gone back every weekend since. I purchased a PA and some other things for my home studio. I have also bought some Drum accessories. This place has everything. They treat you like you are part of the family when you are there. This place is not just a music store. It's an experience that I believe any musician can appreciate. If they don't have it they will get it quick. It's refreshing to find a local business like this still around.
