The WORST Customer Service EXPERIENCE EVER!!!. I will not return to this store. The cashier opened up a new line and I was next. Once I walked up to put my things on the counter, a man behind me in line ran in front of me to the cashier. He didn’t ask could he go ahead, so I told him he would have to wait his turn. The cashier said well he only has one item, however he did not ask and did not have right to cut the line. The man attitude was very privileged which was unacceptable, he did the typical ignore and dismiss. However, cashier stood at the counter and did not start scanning my items. The cashier acted as though she didn’t know what to do. Also, unacceptable! I had to ask her to call a manager. Additionally, the cashier behind the line I was in, said , “I can take him, he only has one item.” I told the cashier in the other line, “No! So, you’re going to let him cut the people in your line.” When the “so called” manager AJ finally came she sided with a man and gaslighted me by saying I was not next in line. She accused me of be angry, yelling, and throwing items. This was not the case! In fact, AJ further added insult to injury by taking the privileged man to an unopened register and checking him out. AJ automatically assumed that I was the problem, she never apologized, just accused me of things Instead of problem solving or mitigating the circumstance. Very low level service engagement, AJ is definitely not management material. The first apology I received was from the owner however when l told him AJ was being racist towards me, he didn’t agree. However, AJ was acting as his agent and her behavior was racist and unacceptable. Which makes me think there is a culture at this store of discrimination. When have you ever been to a store where the next person in line is not taken first. WOW! I guess if you’re a privileged white man you’re always first at Alameda Grocery Outlet! No matter how many people are in front of...
Read moreWent to this store today for the first time since it was on my way to Safeway and I wanted to see if there were any good deals before I spent an arm and a leg at Safeway. However, I instantly regretted coming to this store and should have honestly backed out before I continued on through the store.
Most of the store associates are rude and don’t greet/speak to customers. The store is not organized in a manner that makes it seamless to shop there and a lot of the store just seemed like simple housekeeping was their last concern. An utterly filth ridden store.
But to keep it a buck, that wasn’t even the biggest issue. The biggest issue was dealing with their cashier Daya, who seemed to be better equipped at judging people than her actual job of customer service. Her attitude was contrite and cold and simply uninviting. The first thing she asked me was if I was using “EBT” an action she had not done to the several customers before me and not even to the man after me. I am going to guess that because I’m black she thought that question was more appropriate than saying hello first. I asked her if she asked everyone that first off and she lied and said yes when in real time, I watched her not do exactly that. Though there is nothing wrong with having snap, I can’t help but wonder why that was the only thing she felt the need to ask me.
Either way, I will never shop at store this store because of their lovely “customer service”, plain and simple. I spent too much money for someone to make ignorant assumptions about me based on how they think I look.

Read moreRude. Grocery Outlet in general is pretty hit or miss on the quality of their products. But this particular location really takes the cake on rudeness. Since the whole pandemic started if you bring your own bags you have to bag it yourself. Not a problem. I'm on board. Every other grocery store I have been to will at least give you until you have most of your things bagged before starting to ringing up the next customer. Not this store. Today was the last straw with these guys. While bagging my items a new customer began to put their items on the conveyor belt, and before I could finish bagging my items the cashier decides to start ringing up the items coming down the belt (the customer still had stuff in their cart!) I only had 6 items. They were all within my reach. It was going to take me a min (tops) to bag my items. Could the cashier give me a sec? No, instead she decided to push my items out of her way to get the other customers items down. When I said "Hey can I get a second please?" Her response was "No body is rushing you, I'm just trying to help you" as snide as she could. The attitude was dripping. Gross. Honey, you were not helping me, you were helping you. You were in fact rushing me. When you push a customers items out of your way to make room for another customer, you are rushing them along. It was rude. It was gross. It happens regularly. No one deserves that kind of attitude. And its also the only grocery story within walking distance. I hate this place.
If someone from management wants a name, I have my receipt. HMU. She was...
