Ordered take-out. Bbq bahn mi & spring rolls. Unfortunately both items missed the mark for me.
The bahn mi is HUGE however bbq pork is lacking taste (tasted more like steam pork as there’s no char or bbq taste at all). It is still a good value meal due to its generous portion, size and filling. Perhaps I may go back & try other flavor next time.
The fried spring rolls were completely a miss for me, unfortunately the ones i got seemed to have been fried and refried again as the skin was quite dark and the filling was on the dry side. I really enjoyed the side salad that came with the rolls.
Came around 11am on a weekday, and everyone behind the counter seem extremely busy as no one said hello or welcome or even smile. I wasn’t expecting a lot but a short greetings would be nice.
I was very excited to try this place out and may give it another go in the near future.
For now im going back to my usual bahn mi spot in...
Read moreWe tried Mango and Mint in Alameda for the first time on a Sunday afternoon, and it was such a pleasant surprise! The portion size was amazing for the price huge and definitely worth it, especially I love veggies! I ordered the grilled lemongrass pork chop with rice, and it was flavorful. Few seating capacity but that is totally fine since it it kinda quick service set-up.
The Thai milk tea was just how I like it rich with tea flavor, not overly sweet. We also had the pineapple coconut smoothie, and you could really taste the mint and kale refreshing and fun!
Service was great & the staff was friendly, and the menu is simple, with plenty of drink options. Overall, it’s such a wonderful local find a true underrated spot in Alameda.
I just hope the serving sizes stay consistent because everything we ordered tasted great. We’ll...
Read moreMango and Mint, has quickly become my go-to spot for banh mi sandwiches. I've only had the lemongrass chicken banh mi so far, and it's absolutely delicious--tender, flavorful chicken with the perfect balance of herbs and spices. The combination of ingredients makes for a truly satisfying sandwich. It's hands down my favorite place in Alameda to satisfy my banh mi cravings.
Parking can be tricky with street parking available, but the small dining space offers a few tables inside and outside for those who prefer to eat there. The staff is friendly, though they don't engage much in conversation. My partner tried the BBQ pork banh mi once, but unfortunately, the pork wasn't shredded, making it a bit difficult for him to enjoy. Despite that, the overall experience has always been great, and I'll definitely be...
