This place has a well rounded selection of classic arcade cabinets to get your 80's nostalgia fix. There are a few newer games if you're into that as well. I was pleased to see they had a sit down Star Wars cabinet. I think it has been at least 20 years since I've played one. There's just something about the sit down version that adds that bit of extra immersion to the experience. I distinctly remember being able to play on hard mode back in the day, but ended up getting totally crushed. I was also pleased to see a classic Galaga (original non-fast shoot) cabinet, but was disappointed when I discovered the fire button was pretty much unusable. It was registering about 50% of the presses. [update: switch replaced per owner response, thanks!] The Burger Time cabinet has a multi-game system that has Galaga (fast shoot), if you prefer that version. Depending on what games you're into, and how busy the place is, one hour might be enough. The rate went up a bit to $6/hr or $12 for an all day pass. Read moreThis place is perfect for a retro gamer looking for childhood classics. High Scores has all the classics I've been wanting to play again for years, a handful of more modern games, as well as some I'd never even heard of. Without question the best priced arcade I've ever seen. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the location is perfect for spending time with friends or family. Kid friendly and there's tons of great food within walking distance. Parking can be a bit difficult but there's a reasonably priced garage one block over. Most games are from the 80s and 90s, things like Tron, Centipede, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, the original Donkey Kong, they even had an Oregon Trail arcade machine. Can't recommend this place enough. Definitely go...
Read moreVery unique old school video arcade located in Alameda's busiest commercial district. Pay for unlimited plays for a certain amount of time.
Decent selection of games range from the oldies like centipede and Pac-Man and Tron up to somewhere more modern racing and fighting games.
Not enough space for the big crowd-pleasing games that you would find at Santa Cruz boardwalk, for example. They have a few cabinets with dozens of games you can select from on ROMs.
It is small and has a couple of seats and a bathroom in the back. Parking is difficult on park street, but you can easily find parking for pay or free a few...
