Burma Superstar offers a delectable balance of both flavorful dishes and refreshing drinks, creating a culinary experience that satisfies both the palate and the thirst. During my visit, I had the pleasure of indulging in a variety of dishes and beverages that showcased the restaurant's commitment to culinary excellence.
Starting with the food, one notable highlight was the Tea Leaf Salad. This signature Burmese dish combined fermented tea leaves with an array of fresh vegetables and crunchy nuts, creating a harmonious blend of textures and flavors. The vibrant colors and complex taste profile made it a refreshing and satisfying choice.
Moving on to the mains, the Coconut Curry Chicken stood out as a true masterpiece. The tender chicken was simmered in a creamy coconut-based curry sauce, infused with aromatic spices that tantalized the senses. The depth of flavors and the richness of the curry made it a standout dish that paired beautifully with steamed rice.
To complement the savory offerings, Burma Superstar also offers a range of delightful beverages. The ginger lemonade, with its perfect balance of tangy lemon and invigorating ginger, provided a refreshing and rejuvenating option. It was a wonderful choice to cleanse the palate and enhance the dining experience.
For those seeking a more adventurous drink, the ginger lemon drop cocktail was a delightful option. This creative twist on a classic cocktail combined the sweetness of a lemon drop with the aromatic essence of ginger, resulting in a captivating blend of flavors that left a lasting impression.
Whether it was the satisfying main courses or the refreshing beverages, Burma Superstar showcased a harmonious balance between its food and drink offerings. The carefully crafted flavors and attention to detail in both aspects contributed to an exceptional dining experience that catered to various preferences and cravings.
With its flavorful dishes and enticing beverage selection, Burma Superstar successfully combines culinary delights and refreshing drinks, ensuring a well-rounded and memorable dining...

Great place for a small group. You can call ahead and put your name on the wait list, they don't take resos.
Tea Leaf Salad 4/5 People LOVE this salad. I like it, but it's not my fav. Tea leaves, Romaine lettuce, fried yellow beans, fried garlic, sesame seeds, fresh tomatoes, jalapenos, and dried shrimp
Rainbow Salad 5/5 I LOVE this salad. It's light, refreshing, but substantial. 22 ingredients!!! Four types of noodles, green papaya, onions, and ... with a tamarind dressing
Samusa Soup 5/5 It's amazing, and vegetarian! Samusas, falafels, lentils, cabbage, and onions.
Platha and Dip 5/5 Flaky deliciousness.
Mango Chicken 5/5 Stir fried chicken breast with fresh mangos in a light chili sauce. So good!
Sesame Chicken 5/5 Slices of chicken breast lightly fried in a sweet and tangy sauce.
Mint Chicken 4/5 Minced chicken, mint, cloves of garlic, cilantro, and jalapenos. Reminds me of Basil Chicken at Thai restaurants.
Walnut Shrimp 5/5 Shrimp lightly fried and tossed with a sweet sauce. Topped with roasted walnuts and sesame seeds. For those that like Walnut Shrimp at Chinese restaurants, this will not disappoint.
Garlic and Chili Shrimp 4/5 Wok tossed shrimp in our garlicky infused oil with jalapeños and topped with toasted garlic & cilantro. Honestly, I like the Walnut Shrimp better.
Sesame Beef 5/5 Strips of beef lightly battered and fried with a sweet and tangy sauce. Topped with sesame seeds. A friend wanted to order this, I was on the fence, but...
Read moreMy favorite Burmese restaurant! To be honest, I haven't found a bad Burmese restaurant in the bay area so far, but given that high praise, this one tops them all. If you have never tried Burmese cuisine, you owe yourself as a dedicated foodie to take a little trip over to Alameda and treat yourself to the best. Right? Burmese cuisine is different from other varieties of asian food. Outside of the fact that the selections can be spicy, the chef can prepare your choices with less heat (or more) to personal taste. Must haves would be the famous tea leaf salad, chili lamb, mango shrimp, samusa soup and superstar shrimp. Are you vegan or vegetarian? No problem. You can pile your table with unctuous dishes that will keep any non-vegetarians blissfully unaware that there are no meat dishes present. I do have to mention, however, that I always order a shrimp dish every time I visit. This establishment doesn't kid around with shrimp. Where many restaurants cut corners and shrimp on the shrimp, Burma Superstar features a surprising and generous amount of shrimp in all their shrimp dishes. Service is always friendly and prompt, ...though be prepared to wait for a table upon arriving. This is a "no reservations" restaurant. The queues indicate the quality. Any amount of time you wait is always worth it, so don't miss out. If you are the type that can't wait at all, the restaurant does do takeout, so...
