An interesting place to stop and take in the views and history of this part of New Mexico. The Trestle Vista Observation Site is where old steam locomotives used to claw their way up from Alamogordo through to Cloudcroft snd then to everywhere else.
The trestle accents the nature of the terrain, and makes a sharp curve that probably caused the engineers, conductors, and the railroad company many problems.

Really a neat stop on the way up the mountain.
I will say it's much tougher to turn into the area while going down the mountain. You might even say it's deathifying lol. I do recommend catching it...
