I started training with Chris Huzdovich on February 11th 2x a week. First time I used the bench press and I benched 65 lbs. I did 170 lbs on the leg press. I did 80 lbs on the leg extension machine. 50 lbs on the Iso row machine. He showed me proper movement and form that I didn’t get from physical therapy. I mentioned always wanting to do battle ropes but that I would never do because of my back. Well, I did battle ropes on Thursday and my shoulders were on fire. Chris is the best! I did other exercises but I had to mention these because my trainer was impressed (as was I) with the amount of weight I am able to lift since it has been years or that I have never lifted before. All the years feeling discouraged and depressed over weight gain and not being able to lift more than 25 lbs per doctors since 2020. No bending, pulling, kneeling, climbing and no jumping. Then in 2021 I was diagnosed with DDD and Spondylolisthesis with the same restrictions. God is amazing. I have done all of this pain free. I move faster and walk faster. I can turn my neck without pain and it triggering a migraine which I hadn’t done since about 2010. God bless my trainer. God is good! I recommend checking out Xcel Fitness for your workouts and training. Chris really knows what he’s doing because he got this lady here to go beyond the restrictions. I am amazed that I have Degenerative Disc Disease and can sit/stand/walk/sleep without the pain I’ve had almost every day...
Read moreI grew up in a privately owned, family styled gym & it has been a struggle finding the same type of vibe here in Alamo. We were let in by a member on a weekend when non-members are permitted, and happened to catch Jesus (owner) by surprise but he was kind enough to sign us up for a membership right then and there! This gym is relaxed and has all the equipment you need to get a thorough workout in. It’s military friendly & has simple rules and regulations unlike the competing franchises. I definitely recommend accomplishing your...
Read moreI went here a few years ago. I remember the kid who worked front desk got massages from middle aged men in the middle of the gym and there was also this guy who claimed he was a personal trainer but was weird. The owner is a meatball head and likes to charge you for an extra month after you cancel even though you don’t workout there anymore. There’s no reason for this charge as, again, you’re not working out there. He’ll claim it’s the bank that did that but it’s not because, news flash, you charged me. Gym...
