Ok I'm overdue on this third review. They dont have crow on the menu, but I'm eating some here. I wrote a negative review about being ignored for an hour on a father's day visit. I added to that review, when I received what I perceived to be a boiler plate dust off reply. It seems our experience was a one off perfect storm of circumstances. Garrett's the manager did respond to my review detailing our experience. He graciously extended an offer and we accepted. First; the atmosphere was completely different this visit compared to our first. Even in conversation with the manager that was on duty that evening. I have no plausible explanation for this. The restaurant was filled with a warm inviting buzz of people enjoying themselves. There were a bakers dozen of servers busily engaged in duties. We were greeted, received and promptly and warmly seated. The wine list is prodigious, it's just not possible to find a favorite. As a west coast transplant (not California) New Mexico wines are deliciously different and unique. The sampling is incredibly generous also. So you're well accommodated in discovering your preference. The signature Merlot was my choice. Prices are very reasonable and the menu complete to satisfy. Ordered were the NM pasta, the green Chiles made themselves known in this dish. The meatloaf was akin to homemade, the pot roast as well. Salad and soup were very fresh and well mixed. What to say about dessert except to say leave room for them. Our group experience simply couldn't be better or far removed from the previous. In my initial review I saw the vast number of rave reviews compared to few negatives. So this must be the norm and ours was a weird anomaly. Garrett and Denise are good to their word. And its apparent that they DO care. We had a very pleasant and and rewarding experience. Based on all of those positive factors, we will return often and take guests and join in the multitude of positive reviews. Thank you management and staff for your concern about what you provide in product and service....
Read moreSo glad we found this restaurant for lunch while we visited Alamogordo. It was one of the better lunch spots on our trip through New Mexico.
I believe it is an old home that is converted to a restaurant, the old wooden floors are sort of worn and a bit uneven which gives it lots of character. We were told to sit anywhere and a server soon came with menus and took drink orders. She was all dressed up for the holidays with cute little floppy reindeer antlers on her head and an apron with snowmen on it.
My wife was in the mood for eggs as we had skipped breakfast so she had an omelet, hash browns and cinnamon raisin toast. It was perfect and she enjoyed every bite. I had the grilled chicken sandwich with a side of their sweet potato fries which were crispy and hot from the fryer.
The place is cute inside, lots of cute things on the walls like old photos, signs and even a big Santa Clause for the holidays. What's more I used the men's room and it was super clean which always tells me how good a restaurant is and that they most likely keep a clean kitchen!
We would dine here regularly if we lived here, the food...

I stayed overnight in Alamogordo, NM and in the morning searched out the Our Country Kitchen restaurant based on a recommendation from Joseph from Las Cruces Coins and Collectibles.
I almost missed it, except for the big sign in front. It is off the main route and in a mixed commercial-residential zoned neighborhood . The building sort of blends in with the residential homes. Parking is mainly along the front and parallel.
Nothing spectacular about the inside, EXCEPT for the WONDERFUL LADIES who greeted and attended to me and the FAST, WARM-HEARTED and GENUINELY FRIENDLY SERVICE that blanketed me.
The food is something mom would make you for breakfast, and for prices I haven’t seen for years, even prior to this recent streak of high inflation. I can’t remember when I last paid 10 bucks for 2 eggs (sunny-side up), 2 sausage patties (not small), country potatoes, toast, and coffee.
Besides the wonderful folks that work there, the guests were upbeat, friendly, and open to conversation to a stranger like me.
I really enjoyed my breakfast there and left with my...
