Phattra Asian Market — Local services in Alaska

Phattra Asian Market is an Asian grocery store that sells a variety of Asian products, dry goods, fresh produce, frozen products, and a small selection of household items.

The amount of products offered on the shelves are nowhere compared to New Sagaya, Red Apple or Lucky market as they appeared to focus on the southeast Asian products. However, you will find a few Thai products that you will not find on the shelf in any other Asian grocery store in town. They are a bit pricey but again, you won’t be able to buy it anywhere else here.

At the time of this review, Phattra Asian Market appears to have a larger amount of fresh Asian vegetable selections than any other place in town. Definitely more than Lucky Market, and Sagaya’s Asian vegetable section, which are mostly where I buy Asian vegetables.

The staff is nice, friendly, and very helpful. Store is decently clean. The products, aside from those Thai products I mentioned earlier, are reasonably priced.

There is not a lot of walking space in the store due to the way they set up shelves, tables and the amount of products they have on the floor but the store will be able to handle a few shoppers at the same time without being too crowded.

Overall it’s a decent Asian grocery store. Definitely a good addition to the list of Asian grocery stores available in this...

First off, when you walk in the store, they’ll just eye you down. The owners are very shady. If you’re ready to check out, you better go chase them down. The lack of acknowledgement and friendliness made me feel uncomfortable. While I was checking out, the lady was talking with everyone and did not even tell me what my total was. She just pushed the card reader towards me. After that, she also did not hand me a receipt and proceed to just talk loudly with other people. I honestly expected a “Thank you for coming in.” Regardless, I just felt uncomfortable so I left the store. When I got home, I ate the pre-made food purchased there. I noticed the greens being dirty so I flipped it back to see bugs on the leaf. Yes, it’s normal but at least rinse it before serving? Totally ruined my appetite and will not go back to support. Online it said they opened at 1100 but they actually open at 1200 on the weekend. I happened to show up when they were unloading goods and they were kind enough to let me come in and purchase what I needed....
