I had an amazing experience at Mộc! I did the 2-hour long service with Melissa and loved every minute of it. This treatment combines the best of all worlds -- head/scalp care, a little bit of massage, and a little bit of a facial! Prices are very reasonable, my scalp feels fresh and rejuvenated, and I smell really good. The progression of the service feels well-thought-out, intentional, and thorough. I also appreciated that there is no talking during the services, which is partially due to the nature of the setup of the spa space, but I strongly prefer not to talk during spa treatments so that being a given here is just the cherry on top.
This place is very new so they have a few kinks to work out still -- they definitely need to work on their booking system, which seems to be weird on both the client end and the business end. They seem to have chosen a very odd booking platform that's not really set up for what they want it to do. I would suggest calling them directly to set up an appointment, so you can be sure it's right the first time.
A couple other minor adjustments that would make the experience even better:
Again, these are minor suggestions since the business is new! I will absolutely be back here in the future. I highly recommend and hope that they continue to offer such...
Read moreI encountered significant scheduling issues online/though phone leading to the beginning of my experience where the receptionist was waiting for me at the door and told me I was “late” despite the fact that they had called me to reschedule. I felt like I was an inconvenience and being scolded for this misunderstanding. I wanted a refund, but she told me it was not possible and that I was wasting time asking because they were very busy. Given the misunderstanding of when my appointment was, she was nice enough to give me $20 off, but it did not alleviate my discomfort. My interaction with her left me feeling uncomfortable throughout my visit. The stylist who attended me burned my scalp and I experienced discomfort for a week afterward. I had to ask her twice to adjust the water temperature. Anyone who knows hair knows that it's not washed with hot water! The quality of the products used fell short of expectations and the “massage” aspect of the service was far from relaxing. It was a bunch of random objects used inappropriately. It felt like a joke and as if she was ill-experienced. From this interaction with her, she seemed to be unaware of how to take care of hair overall. I take very well care of my hair and I trusted this place to do the same. Additionally, I believe offering candy as a snack undermines the overall wellness experience. The photos on Google do not match what I encountered and I was not given an opportunity to blow dry my own hair. This place has a lot of potential, but at this point I do not recommend it. It is by far such an overpriced experience and I regret wasting my money here. I hope this review helps this place improve for future clients and get their moneys worth.
-my reviews for other places has nothing to do with my experience here. You are falling short from your “mission statement” of being committed to providing care to your clients. Given all your background, I would have expected for you to respond in a more professional manner. Your response is enough to not want to...
Read moreI was really looking forward to visiting this place, but unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. I had booked my appointment online and traveled three hours to Albuquerque, coordinating several beauty appointments for the day. Just an hour before my appointment, while I was already en route, I received a call from the receptionist, who lacked customer service skills, asking me to reschedule for a later time. I explained that I couldn't change my schedule due to other commitments, and she reluctantly agreed to keep my original appointment.
Upon arrival, I was met with the same lack of customer service. After checking in, I was asked to wait, which ended up being a 30-minute delay. I had booked a $208 service that was supposed to last 120 minutes. Instead, I watched as an influencer was prioritized, receiving a free service while I waited.
When it was finally my turn, the young lady who attended to me was not the professional I had booked with online. She mentioned getting her cosmetology license only two years ago and mostly did men’s haircuts prior. She didn't engage much during the consultation, which lasted a mere 30 seconds. She didn’t really explain anything about the camera being put to my scalp and describing what she was seeing. The service itself was subpar, and the products used irritated my skin for weeks afterward. Despite my request for more pressure during the treatment, there was no adjustment.
To top it off, after paying over $200 plus tip, I was expected to blow dry my own hair, which I found to be quite ridiculous. Overall, I left feeling upset and disappointed with the entire experience. Unfortunately, I won't...
