Hong Kong Buffet: A Lifelong Culinary Comfort
There are few places that leave an indelible mark on your heart and soul, and for me, Hong Kong Buffet is one such place. From my earliest childhood memories to my almost 30s, this restaurant has been a constant source of comfort, joy, and unforgettable experiences.
I remember walking into Hong Kong Buffet as a child... the enticing aroma of freshly prepared dishes enveloping me as I eagerly looked forward to the culinary adventure that awaited. The warm and inviting atmosphere, coupled with the friendly smiles of the staff, made it feel like a second home. It wasn't just a place to eat; it was a place where family bonds were strengthened, and lifelong friendships were forged.
The food at Hong Kong Buffet is nothing short of spectacular. Each dish is prepared with meticulous attention to detail, showcasing the rich and diverse flavors of authentic Chinese cuisine. The buffet offers an impressive variety, yet familiar favorites remain consistently delicious. The crispy spring rolls, succulent General Tso's chicken, and the melt-in-your-mouth meat grill are just a few of the highlights that have kept me coming back year after year.
What makes Hong Kong Buffet truly special is not just the food, but the memories associated with it. Celebrating birthdays, family reunions, and even quiet, reflective moments alone over a plate of my favorite dishes – each visit has been a cherished experience. The restaurant has been a backdrop to countless milestones in my life, offering solace and joy in equal measure.
As I approach my 30s, I realize how significant Hong Kong Buffet has been in shaping my culinary tastes and providing comfort during both good and challenging times. It’s a place where I can escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life, and find peace in the familiar and delicious. The consistent quality and heartfelt hospitality have made it more than just a restaurant; it’s a cornerstone of my life’s journey.
To anyone seeking a place that feels like home, with food that nourishes not just the body but the soul, I wholeheartedly recommend Hong Kong Buffet. It’s a gem that has brought immense happiness into my life, and I’m certain it will do the same for anyone who steps through its doors.
Thank you, Hong Kong Buffet, for being a beacon of comfort and joy throughout the years. Here’s to many more meals and...
Read moreThis place has a serious odor problem!! Been going here since 2006 but won't be back. Went on 10/08/2022 as my wife was craving Hong Kong Buffet, walked in and air was stuffy & humid. We got seated in the room off to the right.... it smells like mold and sweaty socks in there. Tables and chairs have a greasy, sticky build up of funk on them, seat cushions were torn up at our table, carpet I'm guessing is the source of the funky smells in there was just covered in dropped/spilled food. I wanted to leave but wife wanted to stay for the food; what a disaster, Egg Rolls burnt, Spring Rolls way under cooked. The peel and eat shrimp were over cooked, full of black spots, the Jalapeno shrimp were almost burnt, wouldn't peel and the vein was huge and full of grit. The Rice Noodles were dry and had no seasoning or sauce, the rice was just as bad. The General Tsao and whatever else they serve (name plates missing above 50%+ of the food) was either over/under cooked and a mushy, gooey mess. Finally the hvac came on in the side room and the odor cleared just a bit , but walking out into the main dining hall the dirty sock & mold smell seemed worse than the side room. Sad, this place was where we would bring guests & family from out of town as the premiere spot for Asian food, but no way now. I know they were busy when we were there, but the dirty, funky, smelly filth didn't just appear during that shift, we've noticed it slowly getting worse and worse.... even before Covid. Please Hong Kong Buffet, use this negative review as a wake up call. Not sure if you are truly struggling or you are just complacent and nose-blind to how your business...

The Men's Bathroom was Filthy
It stunk like Feces, The Toilets were not flushing properly, (there was feces floating in The Toilet), and feces covered TP on the floor, making The After Dining Experience Extremely Unfavorable. My Party and I left with Extremely Upset Stomachs
Previous Numerous Visits were not so bad, but yesterday's visit has soured me from going to The Restaurant any time in the near Future
I am a Veteran
I did my time cleaning The Latrines, and The Commodes, and carrying 5 gallon buckets full of Waste to The Dumper.
I would expect The Restrooms to be Maintained at all times; Toilets to be in Good Running Order, Signs in English Spanish, Chinese, and other Languages placed on Stalls instructing people to throw only Toilet Paper into Toilets and NonTP into Trash Can, Restrooms to be kept clean throughout, (I make it a point to wipe down The Sink Area that I have used with The Paper Towel that I dry my Hands with), a more powerful Venting Fan be installed, and Signs in Different Languages Instructing Parents to accompany Children, at all times, (being alone in a Small Bathroom with Strange Men can be a Harrowing Experience for a child), and a Suit waiting to happen.
Also, being a Veteran with PTSD, the Staff Member that kept repeatedly hollering in a loud voice caused me to almost go into, "Combat Mode" , its a good thing I carry Earplugs
This used to be one of my favorite places to eat when I and/or my guests would come to town, so I would hope that these issues be rectified before my next...
