I am a victim of Sleep Number multiple customer mistreatment. We bought a $12,000 bed. It is a split adjustable bed with separate head and foot controls.
My wife is recovering from a stroke and I am a prostate cancer patient.
Below is a bulleted list of the problems and lies I have encountered.
STORE • The correct (it seems) mattresses arrived. That can’t be verified since the delivery failed to arrive and continue the installation. • Once the company received the payment, their attitude greatly changed and became very cavalier. Their responses were canned. It seems like this is a regular event. • Another salesperson at the store said if no one shows up tomorrow (Tuesday) then he would come out Wednesday on his day off. This is because another install team is working multiple customer issues!! • I’m continually being assaulted with more issues and lies—they just continue with no end in sight. • Risk free trial-SALES DID NOT INFORM US • Refund-SALES DID NOT GO THROUGH THE MANY RESTRICTIONS AND LIMITATIONS WITH US! o Did not even recommend that we read VERY CAREFULLY go over it before closing the sale.
FACTORY • We (my wife and I) were told it would take 6 WEEKS for the delivery. This seemed strange. MOST, NOT ALL of the bed was delivered on the “promised date”. • The first mistake with the order is that the salesperson ordered the wrong controls for the heated mattress pad. • The next mistake is that the factory shipped a single mattress instead of two separate mattresses, hence no dual firmness and head/foot settings.
DELIVERY • FIRST (original) team did not inform us that the level of the base could raised and LOWERED. It is too high for my wife who is recovering from a stroke and not steady on her feet. • They left with a bed NOT WORKING. • SECOND team only showed where the heat button on the remote is. THEY DID NOT TEST THE HEAT FUNCTION TO VERIFIY IT WORKED. IT DOES NOT WORK—BAD POWER SUPPLY UNIT. o Only after the bed was fully assembled did the man inform me of the adjustable base AND I WOULD HAVE TO ARRANGE ANOTHER APPOINTMENT TO HAVE IT LOWERED. o The person assembling the bed was confused with the WIFI and remote control. o The remote control does not work correctly. • AS OF 3/11/2018 we still do not have a fully working product.

Read moreBuyer beware! Spent over 7k and was told our sleep number bed would be delivered in 3 weeks. Received a deliver date and time. On the day of deliver I received an email from sleep Number that our Oder was not able to be delivered and now it would be another 3 weeks for delivery. Called the local Sleep Number on 528 and talked to our sales person Victor then Robin the store manager. They both stated that their hands were tied and they couldn’t expedite the delivery process. They admitted that the 3rd party freight company had delivered our order to Dallas, TX who then sent it back to the distribution center in Utah. I then asked to speak to the GM and received a call from Steven Pekar. He said he spent 4 hours the day before trying to expedite our delivery and it could now be delivered in 2 weeks. Sleep Number wants us to wait 5 weeks for delivery. Steven has done nothing to hold the 3rd party freight company responsible for their mistake. According to Steven they don’t service NM regularly because of low volume sales so an exception would not be made by the freight company to deliver our order sooner to NM. I then asked Steven Pekar to refer me to the regional manager and he stated that nothing would be able to change or expedite our delivery. Sleep Number should be holding the 3rd party freight company responsible for providing terrible service. I then told Steven that I wanted a refund of our 7K cash purchase and he said I would have to contact customer service and a refund would take 7-10 days. I called Sleep Number Customer Service and the wait time was 1hour. Buyer Beware!
10/5/2020 Addendum— was notified by Steven Pekar that Sleep Number was unable to get their 3rd party freight company to deliver our order sooner than 10/14/2020. Read moreSleep Number, Albuquerque has some of the craziest name's for store's that sell mattresses. Along with some of the weirdest gimmicks just so they can sell you to buy a mattress. Some sells Representatives hang around you like a bad habit giving you their pitch on the type of products they have to offer. Others they just ask you to have at and call them if you decide on anything that may interest you. I don't really know how other people go about deciding on what sort of matress they like. As for me, I guess you can say I'm a little odd. I have to lay practically on every mattress in the store to see which one,I would prefer most.and believe me that ain't easy. After all let's face it mattresses aren't cheap. And believe me when I tell you that if you get home and sleep on it and you're not happy with it. You're not going to be a happy camper to say the least. I must have laid on every mattress in the store that day and I still couldn't decide which one to buy. Some of the ones that,I did have a notion to buy literally cost an arm and leg. Let's face it folks, and I learned the hard way sometimes, you buy cheap, you get cheap! Concerning mattresses that's just the way it is and there's no getting around it. I ended up purchasing a new semi high end matress called Purple something or other and I've gotta tell you. I slept like a baby and it also passed the doggie test on top of that cause Oh! Yeah the dog sleeps with me.and I suppose he slept well too.but then again he's always happy 🐕 Bottom line folks when it comes down to it you truly have to shop around to get the best deals. Particularly if you're going to pay good money for it. These Sleep Number stores are all over. Albuquerque and there all about the same,I figure.
