This place deserves zero stars for disgusting treatment of clients. Suzanne, the owner, just hung up on me after I reached out with concerns about my first experience at the studio. She would not let me speak, spoke over me, and hung up on me while I was attempting to speak. With that attitude, she has absolutely no place being a yoga instructor or working anywhere near the practice of yoga. She reflects the opposite of what the practice should be.
The concerns I raised were about the instructor, Maia, who was very unfriendly and made me feel uncomfortable with her manner, and about their COVID-safe practices. I bought a one-month pass because the studio appealed to me, as well as the information about complying with COVID-safe practices as part of the “ALX Promise.” Upon attending my first class, as I mentioned, the vibe was anything but friendly and welcoming, instead I was made to feel like I was intruding. There were also no COVID-safe practices being followed. Props were being put back in their normal place, no instruction to wipe them down or place them in separate bins for later disinfection. There was also no hand sanitizer available in the studio and the instructor instructed us to rub our palms and rub them on our faces, after handling props that might not have been disinfected.
I expressed these concerns via voice message because I could not find a person or email address to reach out to and also filled out the online form for someone to contact me. The owner, Suzanne, contacted me and upon my answering the phone, she proceeded to justify the unfriendly behavior of the instructor and go on and on about how they were doing everything right. This went on for about five minutes, while I listened quietly. When it was my turn to speak, she would not let me. She challenged me when I said that my experience with other studios in the area had been different as they were practicing a more serious COVID protocol, asking me to tell her what was different. However, when I tried to explain, she would not let me. I asked to please speak and she continued to speak over me and immediately hung up on me.
I had requested a refund because I do not feel comfortable being part of this studio, I didn’t feel it before speaking with Suzanne and I was less comfortable after speaking with her due to how she treated me. She wanted to charge me the full price of the class $27, which in itself is outrageous, and I noted that had I known I would be paying $27 for a single class, I never would have considered it. I requested to be charged $20 for the class and refunded the rest. However, since she hung up on me, I didn’t know what she would do. I followed up with a text and after about an hour, Suzanne replied telling me that she had hung up on me because of my negative energy and because she had other clients to attend to. What kind of business, especially a yoga practice, treats any client with such little respect? Honestly, I’m appalled by this woman’s behavior and wish I never had the misfortune of buying the pass so I would never have had to deal with her.
If you want to be part of a studio where clients’ concerns don’t matter and you are talked down and shut down, by all means go here. But know there are so many better, friendlier options in the area that deserve your business much more than this place.
Unbelievably rude service to clients and totally unpleasant and unnecessary experience dealing with this place. If you look at their Yelp reviews, you notice a trend from the lower ratings and it has to do with the poor attitude of the owner, who doesn’t seem to care about...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting 532 Yoga on a Wednesday morning, courtesy of Class Pass. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The studio is well-maintained, clean, and equipped with all the necessary props and amenities.
The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the class led by Instructor Lola. She was knowledgeable, professional, and truly passionate about her work. Her guidance and instruction were spot-on, and she created a safe and inclusive space for all levels of practitioners. I appreciated her attention to detail and her focus on proper alignment and form.
The yoga practice was a wonderful blend of physical challenge and relaxation. Lola encouraged us to push ourselves while also respecting our limits and listening to our bodies. I felt refreshed and energized after the session, and I can't wait to attend another class led by Lola.
Overall, I highly recommend 532 Yoga and would like to extend a special shoutout to Instructor Lola for an amazing class. Whether you're a seasoned yogi or just starting out, this studio is a must-visit for anyone looking for a quality...
Read more5 stars for 532Yoga! The studio on North Washington Street in Old Town is beautiful, warm and inviting. Signing up and getting to class is easy; parking is a breeze. This review is specifically for the Gentle/Restorative class.
From my first day at 532, I have found that it feels friendly and welcoming to people of all ages and experience levels. Not formerly a yoga practitioner, I was so glad to find the Gentle/ Restorative class. I have been going to that class for about 4 months. I am definitely stronger and more flexible now and my previous joint pain has gone away. The teacher Suzanne is extremely knowledgeable. She offers helpful adjustments and explains most every move. There is variety in the classes and she makes it fun. Also, Suzanne is really funny!
I look forward to the classes! I leave the class upbeat and energized with a relaxed mood and a sense of calm. ...
