I love this yoga studio and the yogis so much I go 6 times in the 5 day work week. (Weekends are hit and miss for me when I have the free time.) It's absolutely my happy place! Everyone is so friendly, the instructors are amazing and they even offer cookies and tea which enhances the sense of community with my fellow classmates. I really appreciate that they offer online classes I can take from home or when I'm traveling and the in-studio classes are scheduled throughout the entire day (and not just in the evenings like many studios in the area). When I moved here 2 yrs ago I tried out multiple yoga studios in the area and they were either overly expensive, didn't offer enough daily classes to fit my schedule or the vibe/energy just wasn't welcoming. As soon as I found Radiance I knew it would be my yoga home. My only hesitation initially was being in Old Town Alexandria I was worried about parking as there isn't a dedicated parking lot (typical for Old Town) I have found there is plentiful street parking, much of it free as I don't mind walking 3 blocks, and I have never found that parking was an issue. Read moreI love this studio! The staff is nice/accommodating and the space itself is welcoming. The instructors all have their own style but make you feel comfortable and confident in their own way. The Gentle-Restorative Yoga is my favorite so far. I also like radiance because it’s super close to my house and they have classes available throughout the day (during the week and weekends) which makes it easier for me to take classes before or after work. They offer a variety of classes (Beginner, Kundalini, Prenatal, Yin, Flow, Strength&Core, etc,.) there’s something for everyone! They’re also probably the cheapest in the area - I’m currently using the new member pass which was $29 but Im def going to switch over to monthly once it runs out - at $99 a month. So happy I...
Read moreI heard good things about this studio from other women in Alexandria—they described it as authentic, serene, and holistic. I especially enjoyed the Gong Yoga Nidra class.
I tried the Monday evening power yoga class, but it focused entirely on inversions. While I’ve practiced yoga for over ten years, I prefer dedicated clinics for specific poses rather than an entire session on them.
Unfortunately, the restorative yoga class was the least enjoyable. The instructor felt disingenuous, though she won’t be teaching again until June, which might improve the experience.
Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this studio—the experience was...
