I went to Hinata sushi last Saturday.
First of all, I got so impressed by how they arranged tables. I've seen so many restaurants that do not care about 6ft social distance between tables, but this restaurant was doing a great job of keeping social distance between tables.
Let's talk about how the food was. Oh my goodness, I've been to many sushi restaurants in the Alexandria area, but I've never thought food is that good or impressive for me to write a review on Yelp. I am writing this review because I am so happy to find this place and want to share my experience. I order a chirashi bowl and a sushi platter that comes with 11peices and one classic roll. All of the fish that come with my orders were fresh and tasted insanely good. I usually do not like tuna and sea bass, but I just wanted to give it a shot. Their tuna was so fresh and just melted in my mouth, and the sea bass was not smelly at all, and I can tell sea bass was fresh as well as tuna. (Usually sea bass has its own weird smell, so I do not like to eat usually.) Try their spicy shrimp!!! I almost cried it was super good ( Fyi, not many sushi restaurants have spicy shrimp.)
The last, their customer service was amazing. I could tell they constantly care about each table.
There is plenty of things I want to talk about this restaurant but just visit and try their food! You will satisfy as I...
Read moreThe food was pretty good, but the food experience was soured by the lack of customer service.
I ordered an appetizer, 2 entrees, and sushi. I asked for eel sauce. The food was tightly sealed so I didn’t check for the sauce immediately but I asked the hostess, if there was enough for 2 entrees, and they said yes. She lied. After I left, I checked the bags and they halfway filled up 1 ramekin with eel sauce. I went back and asked for more and they said it would be $1. I didn’t have my wallet with me because my order was paid online. They refused to give me more sauce. One guy said he’d get me the sauce anyway, then someone else came out and told me no. I should’ve asked them to actual fill up the 1 container that I already had.
I paid about $100, including a tip for a take out order, and I can’t get more eel sauce unless I pay more money? If I’d placed the entree orders separately I could’ve gotten 2 eel sauces, one for each. Just seemed unnecessary. And even after talking to the manager, she doubled down. I might understand if I only ordered 1 thing, but I had multiple items and 1 sauce for all of them. It was just annoying enough for me to...
Read moreAt Hinata Sushi in Alexandria, VA, the Sho Sashimi takes center stage, casting a spell of pure delight on the palate. This exquisite selection is a showcase of the sea’s treasures, featuring luscious salmon, rich tuna, buttery yellowtail, and the sublime escolar, among others. Each piece is a testament to the chef’s skill, sliced to perfection, and presented as a visual feast.
The Crouching Tiger Roll and Cherry Blossom Roll played their parts beautifully, complementing the sashimi with their intricate flavors. The Eel Avocado Roll was a harmonious blend that sang in unison with the other dishes. And the surprise of the evening, Hokkaido Scallops with baby peaches, was a complimentary gift that echoed the chef’s generosity and artistry.
But it was the Sho Sashimi that stole the show, leaving an indelible mark on our memories. Hinata Sushi is not just a dining destination; it’s a journey through the finest flavors of the ocean, with the Sho Sashimi...
