I am so grateful we found LVPA. We've been attending regularly for almost two years now so I can (and will) say with all honesty that it is not just an "activity" for your kids... it is so much more. The coaches are incredibly dedicated to helping each student succeed beyond their expectations. They manage to make learning fun, and instill confidence and motivation with their encouragement and patience. The environment is family friendly and safe - the participant (no matter the age!) can challenge themselves at their own pace, which I find to be extremely enticing, having participated in an adult class.
My kids look forward to attending every week, and have a great relationship with each coach. They are now executing movements that, two years ago, they watched others do with awe. This program has helped them fine tune their gross motor skills, develop a healthy balance of self-discipline & fun and has skyrocketed their confidence - which is every parent's dream for their kid :)
Bob doesn't know what he's talking about - Each and every time we walk through the door, we are greeted warmly. The coaches have bent over backwards to answer our questions, accommodate scheduling needs and make the kids feel like they have a "home away from home". I recommend LVPA without...
Read moreI couldn't be happier that we found Lehigh Valley Parkour Academy. My son has been attending classes for 9 months, and he enjoys it so much. The individualized, go-at-your-own pace nature of parkour is a much better fit for him than team sports. We drive an hour each way to attend classes 2x/week, and it is so worth it. Because my son is autistic, one of the things I really appreciate is that the environment is surprisingly calming, down-to-earth, and not over-stimulating. LVPA absolutely shines not because of fancy bells and whistles (though they have a great setup!), but because of the unbelievable coaches who provide so much support, kindness, enthusiasm, patience, and individualized attention. Every coach is engaged and invested at all times, the coach-to-student ratio is amazing, and you can sense not only their love for the sport but, more importantly, their passion for helping kids boost their confidence in their skills and in themselves. I thanked one of the coaches recently for being so patient as he worked over and over with my son, and he responded (looking surprised), "I am always patient!" The respectful and empowering way in which the coaches work with the students is just second nature. We are very lucky to have...
Read moreI started taking the adult parkour classes about a month and a half ago. You have the option with the adult classes to take an introductory lesson first or to simply drop by a class and join in. I chose to just join in and very quickly felt welcomed by the coach as well as by the other students. The atmosphere of the classes is fairly non-competitive, with people mostly just focused on learning and sharing skills and enjoying themselves. The students in the adult class are of varying ages and ability levels and most skills can be modified to be a little easier or a little harder which seems to allow everyone to be challenged but not to feel pushed into something they are not ready for. The focus of each class varies enough that it is easy to stay interested, one day it might be vaults, the next class it's precision jumps, the next it might be simple wall jumps. Coach Austin has been leading the adult classes and he maintains an energy and flow and does well in breaking down the movements and adding more to them as everyone catches on. Mostly I just tend to have fun and walk out of the...
