Home Depot has become an orange Walmart.
Jeremy at the service desk hung up on my wife when we tried to get some info on our $2,200 LG Fridge we bought at depot because it quit working. He asked her if we bought it over a year ago and when she said yes he said we can only see within the last year, thank you and hung up on her. She called back and got Jeremy again and asked to speak to a manager, he then transferred her to some sort of endless automated loop and she wasn’t able to talk anyone. She was on her work break and couldn’t waste anymore time calling back a third time. Jeremy at the service desk thinks he’s funny.
I then went to Depot and talked with John in appliances and he basically said anything bought over a year ago will have no warranty with LG. Feeling desperate I started looking at fridges to buy and he was pushing a extended warranty. Depot has nothing in stock and it would take almost two weeks to get a fridge. So I left. Wife called LG later that day and found out they have a 5 year warranty on the cooling systems on our fridge and will have a tech over to our house in less that 24 hours to fix it.
The only saving grace in this whole deal is Cindy at home depot......she was able to print up our paperwork and get it to us so we could call on our warranty, she saved us a couple grand. Thank you Cindy.
I get these are stressful times, but if you’re not willing to look up a customers order to help them out, then maybe it’s time for something else.
Update: May 6th 2020.....LG covered the replacement of our compressor and condenser and the tech has replaced everything already, and fridge is working great. No cost to us, would of took longer buying a new one from Home Depot. So next major appliance purchase will most likely be thru Costco from...
Read moreIt's not a bad store. People seem to know about where things are. There seems to be a lot of new faces around there. The folks have been there a while know the store really well and they're very helpful. The new people wander around and there's a lot of them. It's not my favorite place to shop. But they do have a lot of good product.
Update: the store has really gone downhill. I went into the store in August. I was looking for some high heat silicone. After looking around the store for about a half hour one person asked me if I needed help. I told them what I was looking for and was directed to an aisle. There was no high heat silicone in the aisle I was directed to. I looked for about another 15-20 minutes before another clerk finally asked me if I needed help. I was directed to a different aisle again no high heat silicone. I had transgressed most of the aisles myself by then and a nice gentleman asked me if I needed help. I told him what I wanted and he told me that it's a seasonal product and that it's not on the shelf. Why high heat silicone isn't on the shelf in August when people are getting ready for winter I'll never know. By then I had wasted an hour and 15 minutes. To be perfectly honest by that time I just wanted to get out of there. This is subsequent to another not pleasant experience on my previous visit. I had even begged a clerk at the paint department for help but...
Read moreI was greeted at the door of the nursery by a very kind young woman. She asked me right away if I needed any help I explained I was going to the lumbDr. Dept first but would be back. After selecting my lumber I can back and she called for assistance to load pacver sand. A young man came loaded the sand and we went up front to check out he advised me he would load the sand in my car. The very nice young lady was having trouble with her refisted fun they use to scan the purchases, she advised her superior who advised her to can Omar or Oscar something like that any he didn't answer his phone. She tried rebooting and signing off to no success. She advised us to go inside for customer service so the young man assisting me and I went inside. I had purchased some steaks that did not have a ski # on them and she tried looking them up to no avail so I volunteered to go get the sky number off the shelf. When I returned I was able to check out. The young man told the cashier of our previous problems and that I had been waiting at least 15 minutes just to check out so they gave me $5.00 off my purchase which was fair. Then the young man loaded my purchase into my car for me. If it had not been for that young man be . So patient and kind the who purchase could have turned out ugly....keep that young man with the red hair he is a winner and deserves...
