I had an appointment recently with Sam for a curly cut and style lesson. The salon was recommended in one of my hair groups and I was in the area for the day to meet up friends. We started off with an indepth consult. We went over hair cut, products I've used and liked/disliked, different styling techniques I've tried, and what my hair goals were. I told her how I was unhappy with how fluffy my hair looks without product and wanted more consistent results. I made sure to let her know I knew I had wavy hair, not curly, and it gets easily weighted down by heavy or multiple products. I thought the consult went well, until she proceeded to ignore everything I said. I wanted some length taken off my bangs and overall. She trimmed the smallest bit off and then used thinning shears on just the tips. I was confused, but figured she probably knew what would work better since she was the professional. Then she went section by section and put in a curl cream, curl activator, mousse, gel, and something else. Again, I figured she knew better than I did and didn't question it. It was the same scrunch technique I used and discussed, but by the time she got halfway up, the bottom sections were stringy and hanging limply. I was losing hope at that point, especially because she had gradually gotten quieter. She was dead silent by the last few sections and at the end was trying hard to scrunch everything from bottom to top, but nothing was holding. I had more wave when I walked in without any product in it. She offered to diffuse it or let me leave and air dry it. I hopped at the opportunity to end the appointment. I left looking like an oil drenched poodle. I had planned to grab a coffee and run a couple errands after, but was embarrassed by how my hair looked like I hadn't washed it in days. I've tried styling different ways it for a bit now, thinking maybe I could get it to work, but my hair is laying even worse than before. I've given up at this point and decided to book with a different...
Read moreWow wow wow! My cousin and I were wanting our hair done and it was very short notice, but I looked up salons and saw nothing but good reviews for VSalon. I knew that meant something because people are not shy about leaving a bad review. We were both able to book for the next day at the same time(different stylist of course). They were welcoming right from the beginning, offered us drinks(which are complimentary! You don’t have to ask me twice), and offered complimentary snacks as well. My cousin and I each had a wonderful experience. My stylist, Megan, was very receptive and spoke with me at length about what I wanted to do and gave me some great suggestions. My cousin’s stylist, Chloe, also spoke with her a lot to help see the vision she was wanting for her hair. They were both incredibly nice and fun. The owner even came over to check my cousin’s hair because it was styled straight and she just wanted to make sure that if she wears it natural(curly) that it would lay nicely and told her if for some reason it didn’t to come back in and they would fix it no problem. Needless to say I know why they only have 5 star reviews. They deserve nothing less and have 2 new customers! Also, the picture doesn’t do my hair justice, just a quick snap in the car with horrible...
Read moreI had an amazing experience at V Salon with Heather for my bridal / wedding day hair! I live out of town, and so I was planning my wedding from afar. V Salon was super responsive on GoogleMaps and we were able to set up an appointment via email! Heather came in while the salon was usually closed just for me! She helped me with my nerves for the big day and made me feel gorgeous and magical! We hadn't met before the day of, and she created a great look for me with the hair accessories I brought. She kept me laughing the whole time and the entire experience was great! She even spent the time to talk about products to help me learn more about my naturally curly hair for every-day looks. I highly recommend her and V...
