We recently boarded our 11-year old shihtzu for 7 days. It was her first time being boarded and our first time boarding any pet.
When we began making plans to board her, we sent an email on 2/7 to the email addressed listed on their website to understand the process and packages. We didnt get a response so we sent a follow-up email on 2/22 and have yet to get a response. We ended up just calling to get our questions answered. (Please note that the email address was copied and pasted separately into an Outlook email. The inquiry was not submitted through a form on their website.) I would have liked the email communication to properly weigh out our options before making the reservation.
When we picked her up, her fluffy paws were visibly stained/dirty, were sticky, and also had a strong smell of urine. Our first thought is that she was not given the potty breaks we were told were included in the daily fee. Our second thought was that any accidents from our shihtzu or other boarded dogs were left uncleaned. We also added in the bronze daycare package. We are now questioning if she even got her playtime that we added on. The only feedback we got about her at the time of pick-up was that she did great.
Giving a 3 star rating because their grooming services (specifically from Courtney) has been a great experience every time since we began supporting them 5-6 years ago. This was what led us to choose Tangled Tails for our first boarding. However, the boarding experience has left us with questions and hesitations on cleanliness of the facility...
Read moreNormally, I would have no reason to go to a pet groomer, as my wife is a vet tech an usually handles this task after hours at work. That being said, this day was nothing but normal. On a walk, my dog decided to find and roll in a very decayed opossum. Although Groot seemed to thoroughly enjoy this, it was a huge bummer for me having to load him in my clean truck and have him jump onto my lap immediately. My dog, my truck, and myself all smelled terrible! Panicked, I called a couple of other groomers who couldn't take a walk in short notice on a Saturday. When I called Tangled Tails, they were very polite and after explaining my situation, they said they would happily fit me in, and would be ready for him in 20 minutes and would clean him up while I went to disinfect myself and my truck interior. My day was absolutely saved. The team there did a GREAT job with Groot, and didn't even think twice about taking in a stinky naughty pup for a grooming. I left them with treats for him as it was his first time there, and when I picked him up they let me know they didn't dremmel his back nails because it was making him nervous and they didn't want to make him fearful of coming to visit them in the future. This shows a true understanding of canine behavior and I really appreciated them recognizing that. I will be back to Tangled Tails in the future, as I think Groot felt pretty good when he left looking like a...
Read moreAfter having some disappointing experiences with a different groomer, I was hesitant to finding a new one. Having scoured the internet reviews and talking to other pet owners at the dog park, I decided to give Tangled Tails a try. The were willing to take on a new Chow Chow client and I was hoping to find a place that my dog wanted to go. Upon arrival, we were happily greeted and asked in detail what we wanted in this grooming experience. The receptionist painstakingly checked and double checked to verify what my dog should look like when I picked her up. Then, I left her with the receptionist who took her off to the spa. Three hours later (she is a rough coated Chow Chow) I was contacted that she was ready. Much to my amazement, I found her looking exactly as requested. She seemed to have enjoyed the experience and was not showing signs of distress. After an inspection of her and a discussion with the groomer, I was even happier to know that she and the groomer enjoyed the appointment. They gave her a fine cut without breaking her undercoat. They blended her mane quite well and ensured she did not have a mudflap that required regular maintenance. I am more than happy to recommend this groomer to anyone looking for a new groomer that their dog will love visiting. I cannot attest to the other services they offer, but if my Chow Chow is happy to return somewhere, I am...
