I’ve had a bad experience over the last month. My fiancé and I went into upgrade our phones on 12-21-15, we were told they had an ongoing promotion with the droid turbo 2. We were told the promotion included your choice of a $200.00 visa card, or $200.00 bill credit. (this was if we decided to recycle our old devices). We were also told we would receive $100.00 bill credit per phone towards our bill on top of that. After fighting with Verizon customer service for a week straight trying to get our promotion codes so we could recycle our old devices we finally received them. You have to go to the Verizon website and go to trade in then go to trade in device get rewarded. I did my phone first and seen I could only get $200.00 bill credit (no visa card) which was upsetting. Then I did my fiancé’s phone and was told we could only donated the phone (which again was upsetting). I called customer service and was told we would not receive the $100.00 additional per phone since we were existing customers, that deal was only for new customers. When I tried to call the Verizon store manager I was told he was out of town at conference meetings, so the rep that answered the phone took down my name and number and told me he would call me tomorrow. I received a call 2 days later from the same customer rep at the Verizon Altoona, IA store and was told the manager was too busy to call me back, so she was returning my call. That was extremely frustrating, I could tell she was reading off notes that the manager had giving her. (knowing that it probably wasn’t her fault I kept my cool). I’m still working on getting $200.00 bill credit for my fiancé’s phone, but the moral of the story here is that this staff is extremely under educated besides a section few that have been there a while. I think this store is poorly managed/under managed. The people are extremely nice, just provide you with false information. I asked a few times while upgrading our phones about the promotion because it sounded too good to be true. If you have further questions I would recommend calling the Verizon Customer service number and asking them.
Thanks,
Extremely...
Read moreJosh to me is like a used car salesman. I spent several hours trading in 3 phones so i got to know his technique pretty well by the time i was done. I upgraded and spent a ton of money on 3 iphone 12s, screen protectors and cases which was fine as my wife and daughter needed new phones and were going out of town this weekend. Josh knew we were trading in iphone 10s and told us we also needed new chargers for the phones which for 3 new charges were a couple hundred dollars on top of all of the money we just spent. With my family going out of town i reluctantly bought them. Little did he tell me the iphone 10 chargers would work just fine but maybe at just a lower output. All of my chargers worked fine. It was a very shady sales technique in my opinion. I called him the next day and he said we could only replace if the boxes werent open or torn up. Well duh i had to charge the phones with these chargers according to him so the boxes had been opened. I am in sales and this was a very misleading sales tactic, while he maybe did not flat out lie he definitely was not fully upfront and purposely left out important details. Lastly, the way he treated his staff was very poorly. He judged their every word and was constantly telling them to use different phrases or do something a different way. I understand being a sales manager you have to try to help mold your sales team but as someone in sales for 15 years it was over the top. He came off as very arrogant to both me and my wife and it's not a surprise most of his sales team seemed pretty new as I am sure he has a high turnover rate. Also, Josh never gave me a receipt for my purchase to show the discount i was supposedly getting. Another big red flag. I would recommend driving the extra 15-20 minutes to Ankeny or Des Moines if you need help with Verzion and work directly with a Verizon store. I do not recommend this store and after talking to several others sharing my story they...
Read moreI went in to see why phone wasn't charging and they said it was the brick so I said I would buy another one from them. He sold me another one. Got home and it had a totally different plug in than mine and yes, he had looked at my phone. Found out from a repair man that it was for one of the new iPhones. Took it back and the guy told me it is for the new iPhone I ordered. I told him I did not order a new iPhone but was just wanting a new brick for my old A15 Galaxy that I have had for couple years. Obviously just wanted to sell anything. Will not go back to that store. This is a continuation of above review. During the first visit, I told them I wanted also another extra cable so they ordered it for me. It came 6 business days later. When I got it, the USB end did not fit my old brick. So took it in also to return and the kid told me that the brick that I returned previously was the one that fit the cable that came in the mail later. This was never told to me. But he said he would give me the brick that I had returned previously, if I would edit my review, because his boss had asked him about it. Kids, not everyone understands things as well as you. Please don't assume everyone knows what hooks up to what. Thank you for...
