This is my first quality Gerstlauer ride I've ridden. Monster's pacing is strong and there is only one dull hill three quarters of the way through the ride. It packs on the positive g's in the valleys and the whippy inversions are masterfully executed. I don't tend to like hangtime, but the restraints are so minimal and form fitting that the hang time is actually enjoyable. It doesn't feel too short either so the wait was well worth it. It's super re-ridable and the first drop genuinely made my stomach drop, which rarely happens to me. I hope to see more thrilling additions to this Iowa amusement park in the coming years. Monster is well worth a detour if you are within an hour or three from Adventureland. A must ride steel coaster for any coaster enthusiast or...
Read moreCame back for the first time in probably about 10 years. Tbh was kinda disappointed in the theme park new ride, you wait in a line that’s anywhere from 10-20min long to then go on a ride that takes 30sec to a minute for instant the new flying Viking is not worth the wait for a 10-20sec ride, same with the dragon slayer the wait isn’t as long but the ride is to fast its more like a fair ride then a roller coaster, I will give them credit for the monster now that is a roller coaster worth waiting for, but all in all kinda missed the old adventureland I remembered. If we’re talking. Adventure bay that was definitely better then the park but they could do with a couple more big slides but all...
Read moreWhere do I even start? This coaster is FANTASTIC! Still running smooth, which can't be said for coasters of similar models. The hangtime is out of this world, and on my first ride genuinely frightened me! The restraints are minimal, with only a lap bar to hold you in. Not only safe, but very comfortable too! It even has a bit of strong airtime on the drop. Although it may not be the tallest, longest, or fastest ride out there, Monster packs quite the punch. It uses its small footprint well, often leaving riders confused! This coaster means a lot to me, and even as I ride more and more new coasters, I doubt this will ever...
