In all fairness, read below this posting for my original review when I bought the car. Last week I took my car in for for service. I let them know the driver side rear was leaking, about 2 psi every 3 to 4 days. When they rotated them and aired all to 39 psi, they said they couldnt find a leak. Here I am, 1 week later, all tires at 39 psi (+/- 1 to 2 psi for temperature fluctuation) except the driver side front, which is at 32 psi - a loss of 7 psi in 7 days. Now, because of the leak and due to the rotation, i have a front tire losing air - thats not safe. So now i get to go to Discount Tires and wait and pay for a service that is supposed to be free on my Nissan service contract. But thats ok, because according to the service department, my tires not leaking (even though i had to air it every 2 to 3 weeks). Frustrating and not expected from a certified mechanic. Don't make an appointment. It's just for looks. I made one because I work at the VA in the afternoon and can't afford to be late. When I showed up 15 minutes early for my appointment, I was told it would be an hour to hour and a half to get the car in. When I told her I had an appointment, she said a lot of people had just showed up and it was first come, first serve. Why offer an appointment online then? Truthfully, I'm not sure I'll utilize Nissan Service again. I may or may not. I've never had a bad review or bad experience at Toot N Totem Service Center with my old car. I know they are not "Nissan Certified" mechanics, but at least they show they care. I just don't know. It's hard to see ther Service center under-perform when the sales staff is so on-point.
ORIGINAL POST AT PURCHASE: Fantastic experience! I started my car buying experience by shopping online at various sites for a new car. After dealing with other dealerships and "we deliver to you" companies, I found myself online at McGavock Nissan. Kraig Stephens, Internet Director with McGavock Nissan reached out to me and and inquired as to what I was looking for and let me know that he would be happy to help. After two weeks of shopping (with no pressure or hassle from Kraig), I finally decided it was time to move ahead with a purchase. Kraig did all of the pre-approval footwork online, which helped with the anxiety of standing around and waiting. After being pre-approved, Kriag set up a time and date for me to come in and look at the vehicles I was interested in. Upon arrival at McGavock, I was greeted with a smile and a handshake, then Kraig introduced me to Colby Torres, who would be my on-site sales professional. Colby was very helpful and enthusiastic, showing and explaining different features of the 2020 Rogue Sport (the vehicle I ultimately ended up purchasing). During the test drive, Colby was communicative and friendly, making me feel more like an old friend, rather then just another customer. Arriving back at the lot, Colby then introduced me to Carmelo Barrientos, who expertly handled every aspect of the financial paperwork. Carmelo was courteous, professional, and helpful in every aspect of the word. Saying the entire team went above and beyond to help me get into the car I wanted would almost be an understatement. I am very pleased with my purchase and I was blessed to have these three gentlemen in my corner and on my team. I would highly recommend McGavock Nissan to anyone looking to purchase a vehicle! I would also very highly recommend and one of these three gentlemen to be a part of your shopping and buying experience! Thank you guys for your time, professionalism, care, and ultimately, your friendliness. Not at all what I was expecting, and way more then I could have asked for! 5 stars,...
Read moreWe were getting our 2019 Frontier serviced. We asked a salesman if he would show us the difference between the new 2023 and our 2019. He said he didn't mind since he had a free moment. He introduced himself as Brayden. I told him we weren't in the market to buy. We looked at the truck and my wife and I loved it and Brayden worked hard to get us a deal we could afford. So we bought the truck. This makes the 3rd Frontier we've bought from Mcgavock Nissan. It wouldn't have been possible without the help of Brayden and the employees. Thanks Mcgavock Nissan for Frontier #3.
One year ago! 2022 We noticed our tires wearing down some so we talked to the service manager and McGavick made us a great deal on tires.
One year ago (2023) we bought our 3rd Nissan Frontier. We traded it on the way to a funeral in Arizona last week.Unfortunately our third Frontier wasn't a winner. We wanted to talk to a manager and got to talk to Chris Attanasio. He is the nicest person I have ever met in management. Chris said he would definitely help us all he could. He brought in Brian Burkhalter to help. Together Chris and Brian got us into a great Nissan Kicks. Very reasonable price. Very beautiful car! Once when our Frontier was in the shop for a week we got a Kicks for a loaner car. They are a great small dependable car. Peter Dimarino is very honest in finance. He didn't try to add a lot of extras we didn't need and couldn't afford. He told us just what was a good deal! Everyone was so great. We made to the funeral in Arizona! I would trust McGavock for an automobile. We have now purchased 4 from them, all of them were good deals. Ask for Chris or Brian if you think there is no way you can't afford to trade and let them try to help! Chris is so honest 3/5/2025 We have moved from the Amarillo area. We tried to use the VIP plan we paid for at McGavock in Abilene thinking since it is Nissan product we could use it. We were told it's only good at McGavock in Amarillo. Be careful what you buy extra at Nissan dealers. I like our kicks but I don't like Nissan. Nissan Financial is terrible to deal with and you can't trust what extras you get at Nissan! I will never buy another Nissan. Some of their vehicles are not the quality they used to be and the company's customer service went down the tubes! That has been...
Read moreWe had a decent experience. I got the vehicle I wanted after shopping online and at the price and payment we wanted. It was made known y’all wouldn’t be making money on my purchase and I felt it was obvious. I was allowed to test drive the vehicle overnight, which I was thankful for except that it only had 1/4 of a tank of gas and was not “detailed”. I assumed this would be remedied after purchased, it was not. After we made the “deal” and signed papers, which the finance guy was amazing and very friendly and was able to get us where we needed to be with payments and the gap insurance, we were sent outside to wait for our new to us vehicle. We waited over 45 minutes, which is fine because they fixed a nail in the tire for us, but it was more the feeling of it all. I also assumed they would have at least filled up the vehicle for us, especially since It was given to me to test drive on a 1/4 of a tank, but it wasn’t and maybe that’s on me for assuming, I did not say anything as we didn’t discuss it as part of the deal, but after a few days of having my truck it has bothered me. We just bought a new vehicle from another dealership in town and the customer service blew McGavock away, they detailed the vehicle 3 different times for us, twice before purchase and once after as well as they filled up the tank before we test drove it, after we bought it and had us come back for the 3rd detail and filled it up again. I don’t know if this is the difference of buying a new vehicle versus used or just difference in dealerships. This is my first time buying a used vehicle so maybe things are different, but every time they always fill it up. The staff were all friendly enough and I was able to purchase the truck I wanted at the price I wanted, but after the fact I don’t feel as if we were treated as a...
