United Supermarkets — Local services in Amarillo

Had an emergency this night and had read how friendly and helpful they had been to a traveler before. I called them with cashing a hand written check and talked with two managers . then waited on a third the following morning. I had used these people to cash checks before and no problem....now all the sudden they couldnt see their way clear to help me out. I am very saddened by this stores apparent disregard for someone in trouble. Do i understand? Yes i do! But i had everything you needed to take a chance with, and they just said they no. Promote themselves as your fiendly neighborhood market.....just as long as you dont ask them for anything. Very disappointed in them over 140 check . i spend 3 times that in groceries a month there....and this is what i get....

Not very family oriented anymore. Too many kids working in the evening where there is lots of inappropriate conversation going on at the registers. Not very family oriented anymore. Your lucky is you don't hace to bag or cart your own groceries to the car. I remember going in and getting greeted by all staff as you walked in and around the store, they asked if you needed help finding anything. The managers were all over checking on customers, helping everyone out. Today in age that has all gone away. When you went out to the register and the clerk made you feel like you were the only one there at that moment and that you were the most important thing right then and there. Nowadays you don't even get a Hello at the register or a thank you...

They put the Mineragua on sale because they've boosted the prices; also the quesadilla cheese in the green package is a bad price. They had a 2 for $7 deal but the packages are only 7 oz. a piece which means $7 for 14 oz WHEN on sale, vs. the Wally world where it is a 16 oz bag that runs about $5.85. That's convenience store mark-ups and not really ethical.

The produce selection here is not my favorite, it seems limited. Also the freezers always cover the cartons of ice cream in a good layer of frost, so that could be adjusted.

Also the "readymade" section is quite a bit smaller than other stores. The new store manager seems...
